Not when I was in school, but "we" are aware that southern Europe was controlled by the Moors for 700 years. It is evident in the difference between the skin colour of the northern and southern Europeans. Then there is the architecture, some things stand the test of time.
Biggest thing I learnt when I went to university was not necessarily the subject that I was studying but how to research which in turn let me know that I can educate myself on anything that is relevant or desired, That was back in 94/95 so pre internet, these days everybody is a scholar thanks to google, you just have to know to ask the question.

lectures. bruh there is NO excuse not to gain knowledge now and days,
they literally have FREE HARVARD/MIT courses, students record and put it online,
the same exact courses they are paying fuckin thousands of dollars to attend..
you get for free....
