How Argentina ‘Eliminated’ Africans From Its History And Conscience

When I was younger (and broker), I would travel Europe at night by train. Wind up in a new city and stay there for a few days. Wow, that was fun. Possibly my best trip was traveling from Vancouver, Canada to Tijuana, Mexico primarily be car with my brother and his friends.

Love the Caribbean. I work so hard so I can retire to the Caribbean or Mediterranean and get out of the US (except when I want to visit). I'm trying to be like the big dogs of BGOL and get my travel on.

Man. I still prefer trains in Europe. I hate airports man (ironic considering how much I travel). It's not any faster unless you're traveling from like london to greece or something. But if I'm going from paris to amsterdam, I don't even look at airline prices....I'm going by land. You spend all that time going to the airport, security checks, early checkin, etc... it's less damn time just taking the train and then when you arrive, you're in city center..not all the way out at the damn airport in the sticks.

This may explain part of the reason Argentina was such an attractive escape for Nazis after WWII. Out of all the countries in the world why did so many of them choose to flee to Argentina?

Love the Caribbean. .

Man. This is a bit embarrassing for someone like me. I will probably visit close to 25 countries this year (this is not a normal year though..usually it's 4-5 a year) and I've never been to the damn caribbean. :smh::smh:

Beautiful but limited. You can get a similar experience (minus the color) on some of the beaches in Asia. Caribbean is awesome but if you are an extended stay traveler you're pretty much gonna exhaust your options in less than a week.

I will have to call bullshit on exhausting your options in a week.

Other than Jamaica you can tour most of the islands in literally half a day. Obviously you cant fully explore and enjoy in that time but there just isn't much variety at all. My longest stay on a Caribbean island was 8days and I was more than ready to depart.

Damn...only after 8 days? So I could do like an 8 day cruise and be done with it? Because I was actually thinking about doing that later this year.

Im not a cruise advocate. I have a issue/phobia with that kind of long term confinement. But a Caribbean vacation kind of gets redundant after day 4 or 5 (to me). My personal exception would be Aruba due to casino that provides me with something else I like to do plus a scenery change from the beach, and island tour monotony. But if you are a hiking, beach, watersport guy then maybe you can do more than a week.

eewwll, have you been to Portugal? What were your thoughts there (I went recently and would like to hear your experience)...

Have you been to Asia? In Bali, off the beaten path, motherfuckers study and approach you as if you grew horns on your head. Get over it, man. You re different. Id stare at you, too. Whos the other brother and whatnot. Argentinians are weirdos, I give you that.

I can agree with you there. My wife and I went to Antigua for our honeymoon and we made a visit to Nelson's dockyard. That was really awkward. Stares from tourists and stares from locals. Eventually one asked if we were famous. Had to say no we just got married and decided to come here. After that like word spread on the compound cause everyone (staff not tourists) was nice after. Saying they had family in T&T and shit.

Dominican Republic

Cuba

in half a day ? lack of variety ? then name a casino in aruba as an exception :hmm::lol:

The fact that you brought up beaches and "island tour monotony " tells me you're one of those resort type of dudes  get out and meet with the people...

I can find all type of things to do on the islands

what are you beloved "European" spots ? and what makes them so great ?

There are about 100 Caribbean islands. You cherry pick the largest 4 in attempts to make a point? And then you include Cuba in a discussion about travel and vacation?

Its a non typical Caribbean activity and something I love to do. It provides a scenery change once I tire of the beach and leisure atmosphere.

You're right. I almost always stay on a resort. But I also almost always rent a jeep and tour the island solo, with friends, locals, and guides. Always. And whether you agree or not, you pretty much exhaust the island in a day or two. How much getting out and meeting "the people" can you really do on these 200sq mile islands?? Barbados, St Lucia, Cozumel, Aruba, St Croix, Dominica, Montserrat are all fucking miniscule... as are most of the Caribbean islands. Ive literally done half of those in a day.

Like what?

Who said anything about European spots or them being "beloved"? Go back and read my replies on this issue and report back.

Marco Polo published second-hand accounts about Japan. Some people think he did the same thing for China as well and never actually made to China. I don't think he was making the same point or I missed it.

Sorry for no smiley face in my post but I actually meant to search for the "illustrations" of his "encounter" cause if I remember correctly they were depicted as brown skinned Japanese. Not bothered by the correction as I didn't make it clear I was being sarcastic.

Seriously though, Shango who is from the city of Oyo and actually "invaded" has many apatakis "stories" of him traveling to the "Eastern lands". I don't know off the top of my head which deity he is depicted as there but I'll post later when I find out.

Man.. I've got to do more of that (like your trip to Ephesus)

I've been to Turkey before. I loved it man. I spent all of my time in Istanbul though. I've been to a few other countries in that area too...but my problem has been that I've spent way too much time in the large cities. After this year, I'm making a committment to travel for new experiences as opposed to just new countries or just another large city to knock of my list. I know there is a huge difference but at the end of the day, you'll get a very similar experience in Prague as you'll get in Amsterdam (amsterdam is more diverse and you have the weed shops and stuff but at the end of that day if you ONLY look at your post trip photos, you can hardly tell the difference between the two.

I got sucked in to just adding countries and cities to my list :smh:

dam just like in church... the holy ghost must have skipped me...
yet did enjoy the ruins in ephesus....

yet great read, personally others stories motivate me if i find interest in the topic(traveling)....gives ideas on where or what to do next

countdown to GHANA sept 5 come sooon

When you don't have game, you're done in 48 hours. It is what it is!:cool::cool:

If you have "game" you dont need 48hours. Young boy, if it takes you more than 24hours to overload on pussy as an American black man on a Caribbean island then you were done before you even got there. Stop opening your mouth, you're letting those that know know that you don't know. Sit back and read, let the grownups talk.

eewwll is the Black James Bond.

once i was just suspicious of it, NOW i'm SURE of it now.

what kinda gadgets you got mayne?

Obviously at your age overloading on pussy is very easy, i mean 24 hours, really. I'm glad you're a grownup and not a healthy alpha male, enjoy your menospause.

I was in Portugal in 2007. Spent a week in Leiria for work and a night in Lisboa. Lisboa was pretty awesome, wish I spent more time there. Saw a lot of Cape Verdians walking around :D. In Leiria, similar to any small town, the people was very nice. However, I do remember being snubbed once or twice downtown Lisboa though :smh:

Damn. I missed the original post by Amajorfucup. Never been to Portugal. Always found somewhere else to go besides going all the way over that far West.

Sorry about that. I'm sentimental to the indigenous so I try to pronounce and spell their names as they do. Its part of my immersion :D

However, I don't think I'll ever reach the point of calling Germany Deutschland though :smh:

No doubt bro... im American to the core I guess.. to a fault at times. :smh:

Lisbon was cool overall. I had some of the best tasting fish ive had in my life while there. One restaurant I went to and couldn't find it again, I swear I spent a good two days looking for this spot (in the downtown area where all those little streets and backways look identical).

They're the main reason I want to go back some day
