Some of my fave old school house soul joints I came up with growing up in the Chi area. This was before euro cacs turned it into faggo trash sasshaying music.

Nobody still has answered my question
Off the top, I don't know, but it sounds like Larry Heard's voice. (he's also known as Mister Fingers) Search "What About This Love" on YouTube and listen to the voice. If you agree it's him, search Larry's tracks.
Even if you don't find the particular track you're searching for, Larry's work is a game-changer.

Man I turned my family into this clip and they love this song.
let’s just say it gonna be our family jam

Never got into house music. No knock against it though. Just never felt it. Same with disco.

It’s interesting how that works though. I’m not a huge fan of lates 80s and 90s RnB either. Never got into New Jack swing music either. Women love that shit, so I would fake it for them, but I’d be cringing inside.

However, Hip-Hop, Funk, 60s and 70s Soul, and Jazz are my preferred genres of Black music.

Nell's in the 90's was house music. That shit was new and was the adult vibe. House music didn't have a look until then, those fat old soul singing mamas was getting it in, which is where the gay culture stole it. The mainstream did not appreciate the real house singers who did not look like POP singers should at the time, and the gays ran with it and loved the big girls up which stole the movement. But all in all, house had its day and it was good. I don't know if it exists today...

next time you come to San Francisco check out my night at the Royale it's called Dirty stank'n nasty funk. Everything you described is everything I play and I've been doing it there for the last four years.

See me on stage and I'll hook you up. Beers, good music, you need it just name it.

this is what house music is to me.. FREEDOM !(No judgement!) so many clubs id frequent in NYC, so many allnite till 6am (coffee/tea muffin etc at the joint! ) ravers, were the most fun ! no bottle service bs, no N**z grilling each other over whatever , girls were nattily funkily dressed, no gucci/fendi fuckery , the girls came dressed colorful & creatively with comfy shoes ready to DANCE ! yes there was always a "gay presence" but it never bothered me , i just stayed to my lane with the girls & bruhs who came to dance & rave !! VOODOO RAY light shines brightly in NYC scene

I was doing that same shit out in Vancouver late 90s. Those were the candy rave days. You'd get a flyer with a number. On the day of you'd call and they'd tell you where the bus is picking up for a trip to the warehouse.

Took my first x there. Started freaking out and running around the building. My girl had to get me and call a cab. To this day I always stick can money in my sock every time I go out.

Man if you wanted to you could dance till 6 in the morning at one party or another. Some of my boys would literally go out for days.

Remember that was the first time I saw Roland 303 groovebox. I ended up buying one and made nearly all my hip hop beats on it for the next 5 or 10 years. I used the house drums because they always hit the hardest.

I'm not really that into the music anymore. not like I was, but all the same it's crazy to think of what an influence that time and music had on my life.

To this day I would kill to find out who made that laughing record. All I remember about it was it was a cartoon animal with three tabs on his tongue on the sleeve. it was one of the sickest records ever made. I would love to bust that out of party now.
