New federal legislation on prostitution will bring the threat of jail time and steep fines for customers who buy sex as well as others who profit from the sex trade.
Known as the Nordic model that outlaws the buying but not the selling of sex, the Conservative government’s bill comes in response to the
striking down of the existing law on prostitution late last year by the Supreme Court of Canada.
As you can see, they are targeting trick with 5 years in prison while selling sex is not a crime. The end game is clear. The easiest people to get and jail are the tricks. You ain't going to fill enough jail beds with pimps/promoters. Since selling sex isn't a crime and the supposed goal is to 'save' prostitutes, they will be free to hit the streets again and get more folks caught up. Rinse. Repeat. So yeah, prostitutes similar to drug users in that regard. Remember, the 'product' won't be illegal.
In one night, a prostitution bust can catch how many tricks? At the same time, how many pimps/promoters can be caught in the same time? And these cocksuckers know a good number of women sell on their own. Only way to satisfy the prison industrial complex is to go hard at tricks.
In order to get this to fly and make this the new 'war on drugs', they have to promote that saving women aspect. The Nordic model will hit the United States at the federal level sooner than later.
