A homeless man with a polished broadcasting voice was showcasing his unexpected talent on a radio station in Columbus, Ohio, this morning -- with a possible job offer as a result.

Ted Williams, 71 -- a Brooklyn native who begs with a sign saying he has a God-given gift of a great voice -- became an internet hit after a reporter from the Columbus Dispatch filmed him demonstrating his skill.

In the video, Brooklyn-born Williams delivers a pitch-perfect radio croon, explaining that he had trained to be a radio announcer before his career derailed and he ended up panhandling in Ohio.

"I just said, well, hey. I can't be an actor, I can't be an on-air personality, but the voice just became something of a development over the years and I went to school for it," he says.

"And then alcohol and drugs and a few other things became a part of my life. I've got two years clean, and I'm trying hard to get it back. And hopefully somebody from one of these television or radio stations will say, 'hey, I need a voice-over,' or ' I need something.'"

Media outlets have already begun expressing an interest in Williams' offer, including WNCI's morning radio show Dave and Jimmy, who organized a Wednesday morning interview slot for the burgeoning internet star.

Announcing the interview on their Facebook page, Dave and Jimmy wrote, "The homeless man with the awesome voice will be in our studio at 7:15am tomorrow [Wednesday]. We're going to find some way to help this guy!"

and dude is humble he is just looking for a way to turn his life around because he has turned down radio interviews...

The Cleveland Cavaliers have offered him a full time job and a house!

yeah I peeped that... I wonder what the position would be.. I mean he could be the public address announcer for Cav games... dont know if the announcer for Cleveland is a household name though...

If not for the Booze and Yeyo, This guy's career could've
fly to the top like a pelicang!

The downside of this opportunity is that he will have money, a lot of money and he is going into a business (entertainment world) that is populated with drug and alcohol abusers.

hope he can stay clean.

wish him all the best.

How did dude go un noticed by everyone in society all these years? I mean his voice is fucking perfect without any studio correction. Ohio must be an isolated place ..

They had him come into the studio at 7:15am to make sure his ass is serious about this shit.

Great story plus I won $50. Bet my homie that he'd have a fulltime job offer before Monday. Nobody was gonna pass up that voice plus the good press that comes along with it.

Wail till dude is on tv with some fresh clothes on talking about his job offer and new house. I'll post/ forward that type of viral video all day.

Antoine Dodson you are on your last 30 seconds fam. Radiovoice man is in the building. dance::dance:

I just heard dude was on CBS a minute ago, he got a job, and he's in the process of seeing his 92 year old mother who he was hoping to show her that he's getting his life back together before she passed!

The web works fast as hell!!!!

Gotdamn, for a man that abused his body with drugs and alcohol he's a young 71.

I know right, thats amazing whitin itself. He got a some strong genes and will to live. There's ppl who are life long fittness freaks that dont make it to 71:smh:. Ironic world.

This dude's voice is incredible . Amazing that all the years of alcohol abuse and drug addiction did not ruin it. Props and good luck to him

That was quick and I love it.

Once I heaerd him speak, I knew anyone that was about business was not going to let this cat stand outside on an exit for too much longer.

i just saw dude on the news.

he's gonna make 6 figures this year with the right people behind him. vultures are def coming to eat off his 15 minutes. glad he's gonna get to show his mom that he's getting it together too.

im sure stormfront type cacs are digging dudes history up so hopefully he doesnt have any rape charges or anything too crazy in his past.

Who actually talks to panhandlers? You either give them money or you ignore them.

Good story.

this fool will be back on the streets smokin crack and sleeping in a box in 6 months.. seen his kind b4..

dude make your mind up, it sounds like you are making up shit

My mind is made up and my story consistent. I didn't state I didn't talk to panhandlers, I asked who did. I also asked if on the occasion when you do speak to one, do you see a lot of other people doing so. I worked in the downtown area on 3rd shift for years and struck up some interesting conversations with many panhandlers but that doesn't mean everyone does. Most people either give them some money or they ignore them. I've also done both of those.

Think a little harder.
