A couple days ago, Tyrese told the world that Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith had given him $5 million to stay afloat during his time of need. Now, the Smith's are apparently denying the claim.

According to TMZ's sources, neither Will nor Jada have given Tyrese that large sum of money, though they do fear he's having some sort of breakdown.

In his original post, the actor/singer made known his gratitude for the money he claimed to have received. Tyrese is currently engaged in a custody battle with his ex-wife Norma Gibson, and court dates have apparently left his funds depleted.

"When we show UP for each-other there’s nothing that can’t be done I repeat nothing," Tyrese said in the original post thanking Will and Jada. "My wife kept the news away from me cause I’ve been on with lawyers all day but our family and our sister Jada-Pinkett Smith and my brother Will Smith just sent us 5 million dollars to help keep us afloat- You’ve guys asked me to get off and stay off the Internet now that my daughters legal fees will be paid ! will listen..... The Smiths’s and their whole family has always shown up for The Gibson’s Uncle Will you’re an uncle for real..... And I’m saying again if you guys are out there in the Atlanta area please vote for @keishabottoms someone my daughter looks up to a LOT!!!! #ShaylaRocks."

On Tuesday, Tyrese posted a new video claiming he was waiting for the wire from the Smiths that hadn't come in yet.

Take a look at Tyrese's original announcement about Will and Jada's rumored donation for yourself below. Read about how he plans to change hip-hop when you're done with that.

Don Cheadle's agent: Don! How are things, look here, I have on my desk an offer to do an "Ocean's Eleven" type movie roll, but with cars ... how would you like to appear in it as a replacement for an outgoing character? You could play his uncle or dad. Are you interested??

So why are you referring to the cast as a whole? Tyrese was making $10-15mil per movie for the last two and by his own words was set to make $20mil on the next. He's mad because the Rock was offered a spin-off which would delayed the next FF and because his dumbass can't manage his own finances HE can't wait. Nobody else in the cast is bitching.

You just cosigned my previous comment, "all it takes is one." They all stand to make hundreds of millions "working together" off this series. Together they all make it big.

Lets be real they've had 7 hits I think only Star Trek has had more success. Also movies of this nature can always move another body in to replace someone who becomes a problem. Tyrese needs to understand he's not irreplaceable.

BTW do we know for sure Tyrese is having money problems? I think this is more about egos.

Tyrese Is Right About Hobbs & Shaw’s Box Office (But For The Wrong Reasons)

Tyrese Gibson is right about Hobbs and Shaw's box office performance, but he's off a bit on the reasoning. The first Fast and Furious spinoff hit theaters earlier this month, earning generally positive reviews from critics. Despite the decent word-of-mouth and relative lack of competition, Hobbs and Shawstruggled to make much of an impact commercially. Scoring just $60 million domestically in its opening weekend, the spinoff scored the franchise's lowest debut in a decade. It's still far too early to consider the spinoff a box office flop (it hasn't opened in China yet), but it's still a disappointing turn of events.

In the wake of Hobbs and Shaw's less-than-stellar opening, Fast and Furiousveteran Gibson had a few things to say. Gibson has long been an outspoken critic of the spinoff's very existence, blaming Dwayne Johnson for delaying Fast and Furious 9 and calling the project selfish. With Hobbs and Shaw failing to leave an impression, Gibson took to social media (in a since-deleted post) to state that there wasn't much value in breaking up the iconic Fast and Furious family as one might have thought. That assessment is fair, but the truth behind it is a little deeper than the personal feud between Johnson and Gibson.

First off, Gibson is right in saying that an $180 million global opening for Hobbs and Shaw is not anything to celebrate. Though this was a spinoff and not part of the mainline series, Universal believed the film had massive tentpole potential. That's why it sports a hefty production budget of $200 million, a more expensive cost than several of the recent Fast and Furious films. Hobbs and Shaw needs to earn a hefty global total just to earn its money back, so it remains to be seen what kind of profit it turns. It'll definitely be the biggest film playing throughout August (summer movie season is effectively over), though it may not have the strongest legs. Franchise entries tend to be front-loaded, meaning Hobbs and Shaw is going to lose business week by week until it finally bows out of theaters. It'll need a monster showing in China to salvage its run.

But, Hobbs and Shaw coming up a bit short at the box office is about more than fans taking sides in the Fast family beef. It's common practice in Hollywood for franchise spinoffs to be less popular than the mainline installments. Last summer, Star Wars anthology Solo became the first Star Wars movie to lose money at the box office. Even Rogue One, which hit $1 billion worldwide, didn't earn as much as The Force Awakens or The Last Jedi. It would have been foolish to expect Hobbs and Shaw to match or exceeded the box office openings of Furious 7 or The Fate of the Furious. Even if there wasn't any Johnson/Gibson feud, Hobbs and Shaw wouldn't have made as much as its predecessors.

ADVERTISING
If anything, Hobbs and Shaw being a disappointment amounts to Universal miscalculating what they had. With a smaller budget, the conversation around its performance would probably be different. In the grand scheme of things, $60 million domestic is a respectable enough debut (it's the eighth-highest of 2019). Should Hobbs and Shaw spawn other spinoffs or sequels, it would be prudent for the studio to keep costs under control in order to maximize the film's profitability.

Gibson also says that Johnson, who he's sparred with before, isn't 'hurting for work' due to the 'at least 15 franchises' he is also working on.

“There won’t be any tears on his pillow tonight. 180 million dollar global opening on Hobbs and Shaw is NOT a win … When you do get attacked well … That’s that … Again my respects cause he tried his best.”

Gibson first took issue with the spin-off movie from its first announcement in 2017, and slated Johnson in a series of Instagram posts for making the franchise 'about him' and suggesting the movie would be 'another Baywatch', referring to The Rock's flopped Baywatch movie from 2017.

The actor also posted a video of Johnson from 2015, in which the wrestler-turned-actor joked that Gibson's rap album, released that same year, was 'the biggest piece of dog s**t that I have ever heard'.

“Haters come in all forms,” Gibson captioned.

The family is healing.
Three years after Fast & Furious star Tyrese Gibson repeatedly lashed out at costar Dwayne Johnson on social media, calling him a "clown" and blaming him for delaying Fast 9, the actor says the beef has been settled.
“Me and The Rock peaced up," Gibson said on Stir Crazy with Josh Horowitz. "We talked for like four hours about three weeks ago. Yeah, we talked… It was great. What’s interesting about the Fast & Furious is, it’s not about any of us individually. See, we’re like the U.N. at this point. Everyone gets to go to the theater and say he and she looks like me."

Gibson brought up his conversation with Johnson as he was being pitched spin-off ideas for his Fast character Roman Pearce. In previously criticizing Johnson's decision to leave the main series for his own spin-off, Hobbs & Shaw, Gibson revealed that he had turned down similar opportunities. Speaking on Stir Crazy, he said of possible spin-offs, "If I did it with Tej (Ludacris), then who are we going to play off of? But I just could not make it about me."
After being delayed multiple times, Fast 9, which will star Gibson but not Johnson, is set to premiere in May 2021, and be followed by two final Fast films.
