The surest way to avoid transmission of sexually transmitted diseases is to abstain from sexual intercourse, or to be in a long-term mutually monogamous relationship with a partner who has been tested and you know is uninfected.

That pretty much sums it up.
AIDS is the worlds first fully preventable pandemic. The VAST majority of infections come from chosen behaviors. Especially here in the United States where females are not subject to the same level of abuse from men as many other nations are. And, in those nations, it is still too socially acceptable for men to rape females to "cure" them of the virus according to supersitition.

Adapt or die. That's the way it's always been.

There's a hidden AIDS epidemic in many parts of Asia, too.

It's a fact that aids is on the rise in certain regions of asia. In particular the lesser developed asian countries, where international sex tourism is prevalant. Cambodia and thailand for example have hiv rates that are on par with those in the worst hit regions of africa. India is now the nation with the largest number of people living with hiv(enormous population aside).

One of the worst things about this scourge is that it's used as a political and economic weapon by the forces that be. It's used as population control as well as a huge cash cow for the pharmacutical industries etc...

Not to mention the widespread belief that hiv is"some other groups problem". It evolved from an east african problem on the continent, to a gay man's problem in america. These days it's thought of as a black and/or male homo problem in the u.s.
