hip-hop store ''fat beats'' closes

i have visited the location in the village quite a few times,,, dude had it going on back in the 90's,,, think he was doing over a million in revenue a year (if i remember correctly),,, sad sign of the times

Rest in power....

but on the bright side they will still be catering the e-commerce crowd and i feel like copping some of those paul nice break compliations

the guy in the Youtube video is dj Ace...probably the most underrated dj in NY. I never knew why he isn't more popular than he is...he kills parties. But the NS-7 is so dope. i'm doing 2 parties with it this saturday, and the teardown is half the time

damn i actually never picked up any wax there. but i did a vinyl cover that was sold there plus I use to chill there all the time and hang with Percee P

I think the discoroma, Vinylmania, and Dancetraxx closing were bigger deal when they closed down...I knew it was an end of an era back in 2005. i spoke with the owner of Vinylmania, and he said most of his money came from the non dj's...and they not buying cd's or vinyl anymore.
