Healing Your Mind and Body
By Bob Greene
* Meditate daily. When you meditate, both your mind and body relax, Dr. Borysenko says. "Your whole body shifts into the kind of feeling you have when you are peaceful, at ease, your mind is alert and sharp and you feel great," she says. "That, in turn, really helps your immune system."By Bob Greene

* Transcend constant mind chatter. "You've got thoughts, but none of us are our thoughts,” Dr. Borysenko says. Through meditation practice, you can better control your thoughts and make your mind an ally instead of an enemy, Dr. Borysenko says.
* Allow yourself to forgive. "Unforgivingness shows up as stress, it shows up as high blood pressure, it shows up as cardiovascular disease, body aches, lowered immunity," Dr. Borysenko says. "Just about any kind of physical symptom that may be bothering you is going to be made worse if you are holding a grudge."
* Rewrite your grievance story. You will be better able to forgive and move on with your life if you focus on the things you've learned from those who've hurt you instead of on the pain they caused you, Dr. Borysenko says. "Maybe it is that this person just taught me about being resilient," she says. "You have to turn that grievance story around into a benefit."
