My thoughts, exactly. That's so wrong-on soooo many levels
It set whoever made it back 20 years, but not us. This is bizarre.well that just set us back 20 years.....
2 words: White people.Why. . . . just why. . .
No. The 1st Amendment trumps that.It is wrong not only because of the person, but it is disrespectful and insulting to the Office of the President of the United States.
Though the POTUS is a "public figure", isn't there a law that prevents the image of the President from being used in any form or manner that disrespects the title and office of the Presidency?
From what I've read, ALL things Obama are selling like mad right now. Obama merchandise is practically a cottage industry right now. What's really sad about this is there's assholes out there that will buy this.![]()
Sorry, but I gotta say it:
The motherfuckers that thought of this need to get their asses fucked with a red hot pitchfork. Fucking assholes.

They don't have to pay for the use of his image. He's a public figure and the President. He doesn't have the same protection as a private citizen. Unfortunately, that comes with the job. His image is also not above criticism, satire or otherwise disrespect and disparagement. As long as there's no threat made toward him, treason or breach of confidentiality, we're free to pretty much say whatever we want to about him. I suspect this is just the tip of the ice berg for Obama.I need to review my constitutional law, but the 1st Amendment does not protect all "free speech". There is the infamous "yelling 'fire' in a crowded building" argument, and one cannot go around talking about wanting to kill the President - we all know what happens then.
But on the merchandising angle, are all these manufacturers of Obama plates, coins, etc., paying for the right to use his likeness? Can the government go after Jo-Jo in the hood because he wanted to hustle and make some bucks by printing out Obama T-shirts?

Consider the drubbing Bush got/gets in the media and from citizens now. Imagine the same thing, only with Republicans and nay sayers doing it to Obama. Comes with the territory. Hey, they're already burning Obama effigies in the middle east and he's not even in office yet.

Call me paranoid, but I sense they're already too into the Obama kids for my comfort. I understand their interest to some degree, but I just know they're going to flip the script eventually. Thank goodness Michelle's mom is their with them to help keep them in line when Michelle and Obama aren't around. I don't want to see any Bush twins type coverage over every little thing these girls do.I get what you mean regarding POTUS as a "public figure" and subject to criticism, ridicule, etc., I just hope that folks keep a level of "human decency" and not do something stupid like involve his kids, family, etc., but it might be too much to ask for from the assholes.
SMFH @ the kinda shit that ya'll get "outraged" over. Is this any more disrespectful and outrageous than the 500 or some odd Palestinians killed in Gaza in the last 2 weeks?
The civilians, headless children and babies being dragged out of buildings and shit who could give a fuck about the geopolitical agendas of the CACs that profiting from the war?
And I'm not saying that that shit is cool by any means. Yeah, it's distasteful and all but come on. Like you guys missed all the CAC bullshit that transpired during the campaigns?
Meh ...
Translation: Your point is don't sweat the small stuff when there are far more pressing issues out there. Correct? Your 'big wordiness' isn't necessary, we caught your point the first time. My rebuttal stands.
Cute pic, but nope. The nexus of the point I'm making is the incongruity of outrage when it comes to inconsequential gimmicks like this shit and issues that are more austere.

People can chew gum and walk at the same time. Just because these ladies find this offensive, doesn't mean that don't/can't ALSOP care about the completely irrelevant to this thread issues that you introduced to the equation. How far does one take that approach? If they want to complain about menstrual cramps, will your rebuttal be that there are starving people in Africa? If they're outraged by a demeaning characterization of them in a movie, you tell them about Cambodian child prostitutes? C'mon, fam. Apples & oranges.
No one in here is outraged per se' about this. No one is prepared to go bra burning and and raging against the machine because there's an Obama dildo on the market. No one even mentioned doing anything about the dildo on the market (boycott, petition etc). They're just saying they find it disrespectful, insulting and in bad taste. Yet, you're response to their reaction is to take observation of a mundane pop cult novelty item into the realm of mass genocide? Um... Lighten up. It's not THAT serious, cousin.

My bad about the longwindedness... I was trying to get away with just pic replies, but not because I was trying to be cute. These database errors are KILLING the flow of our conversation, fam!You know what. You're right. It aint that serious. Perhaps I was a little preemptive given that threads like this typically go 8 or more pages.
Oh, and mybad on the 'big wordiness'.
That epistle of a response though ... ^^^![]()
Figure I better say everything I can while I can.
Thus the lengthy reply. lolSMFH @ the kinda shit that ya'll get "outraged" over. Is this any more disrespectful and outrageous than the 500 or some odd Palestinians killed in Gaza in the last 2 weeks?

One thing about traveling outside the US is the chance to read/watch foreign news media. The Israelis are getting roasted for doing what they did the past several weeks.
Did the US media report that the IDF hit a UN relief facility in the Gaza Strip? The Bahrain Tribune did. I have the newspaper with the article.
Just as I'm pissed off about this fucked up dildo, I'm just as upset at the Israelis. I'm not a Hamas supporter; far from it. But Isreal fucked up this one big time.

You ain't NEVER lied, fam. C/S every word. One thing about traveling outside the US is the chance to read/watch foreign news media. The Israelis are getting roasted for doing what they did the past several weeks.

I'm right there with you, cuz. Between assorted massacres in Africa and the slaughter in Gaza, my head has been spinning. For a couple days there couldn't even talk about it. In that time I recorded the track in my sig, just to get some of that energy off my chest. I definitely feel where you're coming from.I hear that. Fuckin DBE's!![]()
Anyway, I just had that Israel Gaza conflict on my mind at the time I was responding.
They sure did. And the US and other allies will probably pay for it in the years to come ...![]()
