i just finish watchin it...i'm kinda lost and got kinda confusing..but i'll still watch the show and see what's up!!

In fact they got a movie coming out later this year.
Just saw the first episode...there was enough there to keep me intrigued and give the show a chance.

Trippy show, for sure. I didn't read the book, so the whole story is pretty much new for me. I read a preview article in which the producers said they purposely didn't want to dwell on the sci-fi aspect of the disappearances. But, hell, to me that's the most compelling element! I'm not interested in the stupid-azz teenage daughter and her bratty friends...The GR cult/non-cult is kinda interesting...The creepy black/british/pedophile is definitely not. Show kinda reminds me of John From Cincinnati on the trippy scale; I actually liked that show, but it was too weird for most folks. Jury is still out on Leftovers. ...But the slim goodie playing the mayor could definitely get it.

Yeah the book was a big deal but the show is like a sedative. It's supposed to examine what the post 9-11 world felt like after an unexplained event occurred.

This show is very sloppy, we still don't know why they were attacked, or why they were there with the signs, or why people hate them. How long are we going to have to wait for this information? It seems pretty basic info to me.
