even her ideals about the perfect everything was phony to me. it never seemed authentic at all.
I didn't get that. I thought her intentions were sincere. I thought the truth was like doctor Manhattan leaving earth. It was all she was clinging to, and when she lost it, there wasn't anything else.
I used to wonder how my family was able to treat me the way they did. It wasn't until I realized that the person that I loved sanctioned it. Then it all made sense.
I didn't think it was true deep down.
Every good dude she's come in contact with who could have provided her with what she was looking for how has she treated that dude so far?
There's always SOME reason to NOT feel him and that's OK she ain't got to but don't act like you waiting on the perfect man you not you want something different than what you say you do.
Do you believe the birthday party was a performance? Do you believe she behaved in that manner to bed Dro?
She's a smart woman right? She walked around the corner 5 times waiting for Lawrence to find her. But she's so distraught over the cheating revelation from the aunts (she hasn't seen them ever?) she had to sleep with the married guy? And what kind of guy tells another man to go comfort the woman he's on a date with? And why did he admire Dro's height? That seemed very odd.
But like I said earlier, the show is a little corny to me. It's just there are certain moments that make me say, "damn, that was a dope ass scene!"
It's a Mark Wahlberg show, like Entourage. In the end, everything's going to work out for everybody... But, during the season, everyone's fucked.
I read Issa's book earlier this year - although she's a few years younger than me, I can relate to some of her "insecurities" growing up black in spaces where you didn't fit in. She's got a quirky sense of humor developed from those experiences - sometimes I get it, sometimes I don't. My friends and I who are "out of the game" watch in horror at the choices people make on the show, but, honestly, I don't know what it's like to be in my 20s, single and ready to mingle in this time frame. I did all of that before the gram, Facebook, etc. I didn't post my every thoughts to people 20x a day...I didn't change my statuses or "stalk" people...ahem...I mean, conduct social research. Some of it seems bizarre to me, but I know I made some hella stupid choices, as well, in my 20s...I just made it through unscathed lol
The sex today isn't even good. Before you could work your way through double and triple a, and maybe get called up for a September look. Today, if you're not hitting 3000 feet home runs, you're packing boxes at your local trash yard.
