HBO Boxing

They weren't just hard. Williams was visibly shook up, several times.

Yeah. Williams were hurt multiple times. Again..for me.. I think it was a draw but Williams could have been given the split because I think he was more agressive in the last 2 rounds.... but this was a close fight.. Martinez gave him everything he could handle and clearly landed the more affective shots while forcing Williams to fight his fight.... complete disrespect for one judge to give 10 fucking rounds to PW :smh::smh::smh:

Who allowed Euginia Williams to start judging fights again? :hmm:

He said he's open to a rematch. I doubt he'd duck somebody he can make money with with no better options available.

word

no one else wants to fight and he needs to eat

id expect him to dominate the second fight

just like the margarito fight

He's got plenty of options available....

Dawson
Hopkins
Bute
Pavlik
Cintron
Angulo

BLAH BLAH BLAH.........

Those are not options. The first three are super middleweights or bigger. Pavlik is a maybe but that's who he supposed to be fighting tonight. Cintron is a maybe but Martinez would be a better payday. Angulo. Angulo? GTFOH!

we saw a different fight

after the 3rd round, he was walking through them punches

i did see Martinez tire badly though

Yeah, he kept coming cause the motherfucker is a beast, but he was getting hurt. He's just like them Mexicans.

I will agree that Martinez condition caused him to lose the fight. I had it so close that I won't completely say it was a robbery, but I know if Martinez had promos on HBO it might have ended differently.

After all the talk of his stamina by Lampley, Steward called it right guessing that Williams' pressure would wear him down. Martinez couldn't sustain the intensity and high output and Williams' took the last two.

What?

Paul Williams can make 147-168 easily.

Those ARE indeed options for him.

Max has never boxed a round or worked a corner in his life. This fool tried to argue with Manny Steward during the Minto fight on how to stop eye swelling.

You don't have to throw a punch to be a student of the sport and that's what Max is. A true student of organized pugilism. That is the tragedy in Mike Tyson. One of the few boxers who is true student of the sport but is not involved with the sport as a trainer or commentator. Someone needs to talk to Mike.

Dawson
Hopkins
Bute
Pavlik
Cintron
Angulo

BLAH BLAH BLAH.........

Dawson - he doesn't want that
Hopkins - Hopkins is talking Heavyweights so I doubt it.
Bute - I don't know if Williams wants to go up any further
Pavlik - This is his money fight
Cintron - Possibility
Angulo - nill

I agree with most of this except the Angulo thing.

Angulo would be a perfect fight for Paul if he doesn't fight a rematch with Martinez. He would destroy Angulo and look good doing it.

Bullshit. Martinez's conditioning is the main reason he was able to stay in that fight.

He was in top physical condition, but when your fighting someone 6'2 with that type of aggression and punch output who refuses to be stopped no matter how hard you hit him, your going to get tired no matter how in shape you are.

What?

Paul Williams can make 147-168 easily.

Those ARE indeed options for him.

He claims to be able to make 147 to 160 easily but the longer the time between welterweight fights, the harder to make the weight safely.
He hasn't shown the power to compete at 168 and would be at a heavy disadvantage against the elites at that weight.

Again, those are not realistic options. Martinez and Cintron are the only money options outside Kelly Pavlik.

Dude Paul isn't going over 160. He doesn't have the power at 168 and up and all his assets would be liabilities in those weight classes.

Paul should stay between 154-160 IMO.

Agree with everything here except Angullo.

That shit was funny as hell, but Manny needs to get checked some times

Pretty much. Kellerman and Merchant have owned Manny a couple of times.

Just because you have boxing knowledge, as Manny does, doesn't mean you don't talk out your ass from time to time and need to be put in check.

That's exactly why Angulo wouldn't be a good match. Everybody knows what would happen. HBO is no longer broadcasting glorified exhibitions and they would like to make some money on Angulo before he gets killed.

So on some real shit can we all argue PW was suppose to dominate this fight only to come within an inch of being knocked the fuck out and saved by a decision? worst case the shit should have been a draw. Don't worry PW gonna get some calls now he's looking like dog food right now to a lot of fighters who was duckin now he done gave them the blueprint to knock his ass out.

I gotta go. The Wife's making those teeth sucking noises that mean the sound of typing is pissing her off. See ya'll tomorrow.

Congratulations to the Punisher, Sergio Martinez, and HBO for a good fight.

Fuck that judge that put a cloud on a great fight with a bullshit score.

Dude slowed down in the middle rounds, and gave them a way. Williams went hard the whole fight. That's why I say conditioning did him in.

People who really watch and know boxing never expected Williams to dominate this fight.

Martinez was just slept on, so novice fans thought that.
