True enough they are not always accessible to northern blacks, demographically, but if a white student from California can graduate from Morehouse Valedictorian, I don't think accessibility is an issue. If one works hard enough to get there, any institution of higher learning is accessible.
So because a white person can afford it, everyone else can? Accessibility varies from person to person, so yes it was accessible and is accessible to some white people. But to black students who can't afford out of state or private tuition (because some HBCUs are private institutions) it is not accessible. I am all for supporting institutions, but if they aren't making it easier for us to attend, then how can we. What does a 5,000 per year scholarship do (2500 per semester) when tuition is 15000 per semester?? It just logistically does not make sense. And I am all in favor of the fact that education is an investment in your future, but I also don't think its worth it to graduate with 60000 in undergraduate debt.

You are right though, some PWI are far worse than HBCUs... this is a fact and in fact probably an understatement, but the fact is we are in AMERICA with CACs and they don't care about that. college is what you make of it. if you go to an HBCU and you do what you need to do you will more than likely succeed versus someone who goes to a pwi institution and doesn't pull their weight.
