Hawks Are Bitches

Bruh, one day in my back yard I noticed this weird bird came and perched on my gazebo. Then some all kinds of regular birds, at least 25, came and perched in the surrounding trees. These MOFOs were chirping loud as hell and more birds started coming to the trees. Then I noticed the weird bird was a hawk. The hawk started chasing one of the smaller birds. Then every bird in the trees started chasing the hawk. It was the wildest bird shit I've ever seen.

Owl was probably trying to suffocate the hawk to death.

I recall a few years ago pulling up to my job and thought I saw an injured hawk land near where I was parking. Turned out it had picked up a rat in flight and was using its wings and the concrete as leverage to choke it to death. After that, it adjusted its grip and flew off with it.

One time last year, I was leaving the house with a chick and hear & see a bunch of Crows squawking up high in a group of mature pine trees in front of the house.

Me and her keep looking and I notice an Owl sitting up there by itself, I think it "hoo'd" once or twice and I was able to trace & see where it was.

We were still kinda puzzled because the Crows were swarming & swooping by the Owl from tree to tree, flying close. Chick Googles something about Crows & Owls and reads that they are natural enemies and that usually Owls kill Crows, but occasionally the Crows see a lone Owl & mobb it.

I asked her if I should shoot? Before she could answer I let one go up in the trees, the Crows took flight, the Owl "hoo'd" & stayed put, old girl looks up & says "You welcome", and we rolled out

As we drove out driveway she said, "They seen the opps"

Eagles aren't really known for scavenging carrion. They mostly hunt live prey. However, vultures and condors prefer already dead and rotting animals.
You're right. Let's just say and eagle had to survive on putrid, 6 day old hippo meat, that's in the African sun and liquefying, that would still not want to be an eagle.

For the record, I'd like to be an orca:yes:

Yeah the human did jump in but for a few seconds the hawk was just laying there screaming. They look to be about the same size so that hawk should have gave the owl a fair one.
Given the same size, owls are much more muscular. It would be like comparing an adult midget to a child of the same size. Yes they are the same size, but it's much different. My time studying Raptors is a long way away, but it likely has a lot to do with bone structure density and musculature
What the fuck was the owl doing hunting

For prey in the daytime

I thought they were nocturnal??

As the lady in the lower video said, when owls hunt is based upon their eyes. And even then their eyes show you when they hunt best, but their schedules are not set in stone

I've seen it on a number of occasions where smaller birds are chasing a much larger bird of prey away from their nest

It's quite comical. When it comes to protecting their offspring, many animals including human beings often take won the battles they wouldn't ordinarily even attempt if the situation hadn't been so dire

I think, as the saying goes, owls are smarter than hawks. Their intelligence gives them their biggest edge. Unless you are referring to the Eagle Owl, they are not really much bigger than a hawk. Harry Potter's owl was on the larger size.

They are so calculating in their hunts:yes:
Hawk snatching a sleeping hawk

Man, that nighttime snatch out of the nest was just kidnapping. That was ruthlessly evil. Let a mother fucker sleep

Can you imagine you're in Dreamland counting delicious sheep and the next thing you know you're looking at some old man with a beard.

You ask him what his name is and he says:

"I am St Peter.

"How the hell did I get here? Did I die my sleep?"

"In a matter of speaking, yes. More accurately, you were killed."

"KILLED? My wife. That bitch. I knew she had it out for me. BITCH!"

"Language. Sir. It wasn't your wife."

"Well then what?"

"Hoo"

"Okay, who?

"Exactly."

"No, seriously. Who killed me."

"Hoo"

"That's what the hell I'm asking you, man."

"No, Hoo. The owl...from 3 trees over."

I saw a report on crows a few years ago. Crows have become the most proficient bird in the country. An crows have a sense of (don't laugh) community. If a hawk is seen crows actually send out alarms. We don't even do that for ourselves. We also see crows now in inner cities, I don't remember that growing up.

A crow is considered a nuisance bird for good reason, they can quickly ruin gardens, they will steal food that's uncovered and you never know when they'll sneak in.

BTW don't forget about hawks they've been known to steal pets like small puppies and kittens even rabbits and snakes.

Crows have the capability to talk to other birds and create alliances to fight off common enemies

Wow! I never knew that. So they actually have an important place within the bird world. Who knew?

I got a chance to observe them a couple of years ago in Florida. There were hawks in that region in addition to the crows. I watched a crow literally punk a hawk that landed too close to its nest. The crow was actually slamming its body against the hawk. The hawk eventually got annoyed and flew away.
