I'm watching the combine and he has a whole crew of professional analysts acting like Tim Tebow has them on retainer. The only person I have heard say anything bad about him was was the Jet DT Kris Jenkins was on the Senior Bowl analyst team in studio and said that he didn't look good at all. He was the only guy who told the truth. he basically said that Tebow hasn't shown him anything and didn't look like an NFL level QB. The others were trying like heck to find find positives from a horribly played game. I don't get it.

He is a good guy. Probably one of the best character guys the NFL has seen in a while from the college level. But this isn't a league of choirboys. This is the NFL which stands for not for long if you remember Jerry Glanville's statement. Guys are at the combine prepping to be drafted based on what they have done so far at the college level. This new throwing motion that Tebow is working on hasn't been game tested. He's practicing for the Underwear Olympics when the NFL is like Gladiator.

He is probably going to get drafted in the second or third round by some team when a REAL quarterback that actually deserves a chance at the NFL level will get left back. He does not look like an NFL quarterback to me. At All. Poor footwork. Poor mechanics/untested mechanics. Not a big arm. Struggles with the deep ball. Doesn't recognize or anticipate windows (the open space between the receiver and the defender), and he is not fast. A pat White-type player has speed that is the wild card. The ace in the hole. This guy is big, but he isn't powerful. He doesn't have single hole card that I could work with at the NFL level at QB.

If he was lining up at tight end then I would be all for a 3rd-5th round grade of this guy. But I do not understand for the life of me why everybody seems to be defending the guy other than the fact that he is a nice guy. A great teammate. Probably has the best, most quoted Promise in sports history. But not an NFL quarterback. High profile, good character, potential are all words that former head coaches recognize as words that got them fired. You pick players who can play at the NFL level. Tebow is essentially changing positions. From a college quirky quarterback to an NFL Style quarterback.

Lesser profile players have gone undrafted and had to prove their metal. Prove their worth as an undrafted free agent and had to battle in camp for a job. You cannot tell me that Tim Tebow is better than Chase Daniel or Graham Harrell. Analysts like Mike Mayock, who is a highly respected NFL analyst, want to give this guy a two year pass. It is a waste huge waste to have a third round pick or higher sitting for two years when you aren't gambling with house money. In a perfect world, yes, I would love Tim Tebow on my team. He is a great guy, he will work hard. But players who work hard don't always produce. These analysts refuse to say a bad word about Tim Tebow and that should stop. I say again, this is the NFL. He can take it. Make him earn it. These analysts need to stop giving him a higher grade than he deserves and give him the C, D or F he has earned. Any other player would be roasted. Tim Tebow by any other name would not be Tim Tebow. He would be hoping he was even drafted. He is not the second coming of Tom Brady, but more the second coming of Eric Crouch with no quit in him.

I said he was a great guy. That's all well and good. I just haven't seen anything spectacular from him as a passer. He isn't a wildcat guy. It is obvious to most of the NFL that the Dolphins reached last year for Pat White and that where he went in the 2009 draft shouldn't be any kind of a window to where Tebow should go. He will work hard. That is no doubt. But is he an NFL quarterback? Plenty great guys don't make it in the NFL. Black men aren't threatened by him as Blunt said. Guys who want quarterbacks who can perform fear that their football teams will take him and he will bust. The ocean of future Black millionaires thing was totally out of line. I like the kid.
