Harlem Nights.... Just realized this when I saw this... Damn...

Yeah this was just on BET a week or so ago, and there was a scene with them sitting around the table talking (I believe when they were gonna scam Bugsy). I think Eddie Murphy (and i think one other dude) was the only one still alive. Robin Harris, Charlie Murphy, Della Reese, Redd Foxx. A ton of talent sitting at that table.

All the technology in the world and this is the conversation you can get out of it? No stories of how you were 10 and you snuck into some theatre to see it? No reflections on how you spent the last 30 years?

I guess a picture is worth a thousand words. But where are the words?

...a person with limited mental capacities would type this post in response to this thread. I won't even elaborate, but I'm sure EVERY OTHER poster here will understand what I'm talking about.

Based on your posts, the mental struggle is real for some folks, thanks for acknowledging your charter membership in that group... :D

And of those still living, Sunshine looks more like a cloudy day...

It be like that. You don't realize it until it hits close. When I'm researching and studying these older films, it's like watching ghost.

St. Louis Blues (1958) - All passed

Carmen Jones (1954)
Blaxploitation OG actors are still around, but there were also several that were in their upper 20s when they started who are holding on strong.
Fred Williamson
Jim Brown
James Earl Jones
Pam Grier
Bill Cosby

Still got Harry Belafonte and Sidney Poitier from the 50s era, which is impressive. There are no Black actors left from the 40s (not that I know of or can remember).

eddie was saying in an interview how the critics tore the film apart. saying it his film he directed was horrible, not good etc. to the point that eddie didn't watch since it came out in 89. he said it had came on cable one night around the time of the interview in the early 2010's , he said that was first time he watched it in decades and how good the movie was. this man put 3 generations of comedy greats in one movie and that shit was classic. red foxx, pryor and eddie sharing screen time together. along with arensio , tommy, robin harris . della reese was hilarious. jasmine guy as domique larue. a slept on gem in eddie's classic filmography. the only film he directed too.
