Some of the available apartments are at 801-807 Saint Nicholas Ave., which has recently undergone a renovation.

Note: BrickUnderground is in no way affiliated with New York City public housing. If you are interested in applying to this or other affordable housing developments, please go to the NYC Housing Connect website for information and instructions.

A few more affordable housing options entered the market today, with applications opening for affordable rentals in two different Harlem apartment buildings, with prices as low as $861/month for a one-bedroom according to a listing on NYC Housing Connect.

A total of 20 apartments are available at 801 Saint Nicholas Ave. and 1772 Amsterdam, with one-bedrooms available for $861/month; two-bedrooms available for $1,042/month; three-bedrooms available for $1,196/month; and four-bedrooms available for $1,341/month. Income restrictions range from $30,926 for a single person to $68,400 for a family of eight, and depend on both apartment and family size. (The full breakdown can be found here.)

Applications are due by August 12th, and preference for half of the rentals will be given to current residents of West Harlem's CB9 (you can find the exact parameters here to see if you live within the boundaries.) If you qualify and are interested, you can apply online via NYC Housing Connect, or send a postcard or self-addressed envelope to Heights 150th Street, c/o CLOTH, 500 W 159th Street, NY, NY 10032, in order to request an application by mail.

Unsure how the application process works? Check out our tips here, and remember: though it may be tempting, don't send in multiple applications, as this could wind up disqualifying you from the lottery altogether.
