H.S. Student Blows Cigar Smoke In Teacher's Face

Arkansas prosecutors are considering filing a criminal charge against a high school student who lit a cigar in class and then blew smoke in his teacher’s face three times, according to police.

As seen above, the incident Monday morning at North Little Rock High School was recorded by a student.

As detailed in a North Little Rock Police Department report, teacher Robert Holley told cops that his confrontation with student Christopher Dunn, 18, “started when Dunn showed up to class to take his final exam.”

Holley said that he told Dunn that he would have to sit in the hallway to take the test, but that the student refused. “Holley said he told Dunn that if he didn’t do as he was asked that he was going to write him up and call for a campus supervisor to remove him.”

When Holley reached for an intercom button, Dunn said, "Hit that button, I dare you. Holley told police that he has had Dunn removed from his classroom several times this year.

As Holley began “writing Dunn up,” cops noted, “his class started going wild so he turned around to see what the commotion was about.” Dunn, Holley said, had lit a cigar and was “taking a drag off of it.”

Dunn then rose from his seat and walked up to Holley and blew cigar smoke in his face. While the video shows Dunn doing this once, Holley told police the student blew smoke in his face three times.

Somehow, Holley did not physically respond to Dunn’s provocation, which appeared to delight other students, who can be heard in the background laughing, clapping, and whooping.

A campus supervisor eventually arrived at the classroom and escorted Dunn out. “I’ll be back,” the student said as he looked over his shoulder at Holley.

Police classified the incident as insult or abuse of a teacher, a misdemeanor. County prosecutors are now reviewing the case to make a decision on whether to file a criminal charge against Dunn.

This is why all the good teachers with half of a brain wind up doing what it takes to get out of inner city schools, and if they are good and smart enough they get promoted to white schools where they are allowed to educate them.. Meanwhile our children have dumb parents, dumb teachers and dumb classmates only making learning almost impossible..
As the result, schools push them out the door, giving them a bogus diploma and five years later you got a bunch of salty ass mother fucker crying how there are no jobs out there in the hood, and turn to slinging and hustling in order to help feed their kids... At the end of the day duke winds up either dead or a slave in the system, their children wind up fucked before they can fuck up and the beat goes on...
Yes the system is fucked up and racist but understand the role we play in keeping the system up and running, because until we understand this we will become doomed as a race..

I'm going to use this at my job (I work with social services) and try to wake up some of the brothers and sisters.
 
This may be futile in this case but bring in the parents and show them the video. Offer two choices - immediate expulsion or he will take classes online at a school detention site.

we must understand, most black men do NOT learn by

sitting in a class all day, theorizing, we are visual learners...

women have the mental capacity to work within whatever system

thrown at them, boys are wired different, we have to burn off that

excess energy...

I live around a lot of prestigious schools and all these schools have the students

work out by running in the park FIRST and foremost to start the day off...

this will help the students wind down that excess energy and be able to focus

the rest of the day...

these impoverished inner city schools are wired for young black men to fail....

and are filled with the worst teachers the system has to offer...

I agree with this 100 matter of fact I have some real science to drop on the subject and will make a thread about it soon, only thing its going to get deep and for me to drop it correct I am going to have to have the right time and be in the right mind for it.. But if I do it correctly it would explain a whole lot, much is what many of us are missing out on...:cool:

You're right, more than likely is futile. Parents? :lol2: Usually, kids like this represent their parents to some extent. No fucks given. Even if parents do show up, a lot of them tend to take the sides of the kids. The complete opposite of just a few decades ago. Worth a try though, but I wouldn't expect much.

It's amazing the amount of restraint today's teachers have to exhibit. Just 30 years ago, the teacher could have laid into the student and not one fuck would have been given. It's like kids are just doing shit to teachers to provoke them so they can get paid in the lawsuit. Easy money.

We use to hoop in the gym before the school day started at school.

One of the biggest problem with today's youth is lack exercise to rid their negative energy

Inner city schools are schools of last resort and are populated with young, white teachers from programs like Teach for America; they don't have a teaching degree or any classroom management experience beyond the summer training they participate in and then they are unleashed to teach kids who need adults in the classroom who actually know the science of education, not just some academically gifted white kids from an Ivy League school who wants to do two years to enhance their resume for law school.

Add to this; inner city schools are become more and more charter-based, ran by outside entries who are for profit or not for profit (in reality masking as a NFP but paying the top exec huge salaries, many of whom are former TFA alums); they drain $ that would have gone to the traditional inner city public schools, only keep the kids they want (behavior issues, special ed, no thanks), and build new taxpayer funded facilities; all under the guise of "closing the education gap" or "all kids deserve a high-quality education", when the scores of most are no better (or even worse) than the traditional publics they are supposed to be so much better than. These folks are laughing all the way to the bank while kids are being shortchanged, parents get fleeced by a new building and a MacBook or iPad for each kid, the public school system is being destroyed and the teachers' union is on life support. Notice you hardly EVER see charters in suburbs or rural areas? You'd think folks would wake up and realize that until you address the issue of poverty, there's no magic education bullet that's going to make every kid coming from a disadvantage background a superstar. By that point though, the education profiters will be on to the next public cash grab and the inner city public school system will be trying to pick up the pieces of a failed social science experiment where poor black and hispanic kids were the test subject.

I deal with MANY students that fucked up at a young age and now they want to go back to school. What is fucked up is many never really change.

On a pay scale, inner city school teachers gets peanuts. One of the reasons I said fuck teaching high school.

As our population grows, the demand of teachers are higher than ever. So guess what the with folks are doing? Sending their children to Charter schools. But not those half ass schools. Schools that has a strong high school to college pipeline. Public education is going to get worse.

Many whites are not only gentrifying the inner city but creating their own "charter" schools that are more like suburban privates schools than the charters that inner city blacks and hispanics get stuck sending their kids to. They eat from the same public trough but the gentrifiers have a hand in every selection, from the Board to the teachers, while the inner city parents let whoever teach their kids, experience be damned.

Yup. Cornerstone Academy is busting ass down here. Plus these charter schools get to teach their own curriculum. We have a couple of Black charter schools in Greensboro but they ain't fucking with Cornerstone. It's so evident on what white folks are doing. Suburban school are more for the middle class mixed generation x families. Hell, even churches are using donation money to get schools started.

Parents probably just as ignorant as he is....the story says he's already been removed from the class multiple times. His parents know he's a problem, and they either won't or can't control him either.
