what's the hold up on a cyborg v. rousey fight?

i heard tito ortiz' explanation and it made sense. or is it b.s.?

here is tito ortiz' position as her manager:

cyborg walks around at 170. rousey wants the fight to be at 135. tito says asking cyborg to fight at 135 is too much weight and it would be unhealthy for cyborg to do so. a man could cut that weight, but tito claims for a woman to do so would be unhealthy.

cyborg herself pointed out that rousey used to compete as a judoka at 150 and 154. cyborg said she even offered to fight rousey at a catch weight of 140, but rousey declined.

all that sounds reasonable.

so my question is, what is your understanding of the situation? cyborg asked dana white to release her from UFC because a rousey fight wasn't going to happen and there wasn't an appropriate weight class for her anyway.

to me, it looks like rousey is intentionally ducking a fight.

Look at what cyborg did to Gina Corrano (sp) for your answer.

They're protecting her the same way they did Tito when he was the champion. Tito is speaking from first hand experience because for the longest he fought everyone BUT #1 contender Chuck Liddell.

Plus look at rousey. She look like your typical white man fantasy. Average looking blonde hair blue eyed next door neighbor type. They gotta protect that investment and milk it for as much as they possibly can. Having her be undefeated with the Championship belt around her waist fighting competitor's not on her level is much better business wise than having this manly looking woman from Brazil with the belt.

Because if/once cyborg get that belt she not losing it EVER.

Even without cheating, which she probably would do anyway, cyborg is too fucking strong for Rhonda. I don't think there is enough technique in the world to stop her from getting her clock cleaned. Rhonda is big for the division, but so was Gina and Gina was a much better striker than Rhonda.

it's interesting to note, though, that one of tito's original criticisms of UFC is that they did NOT protect/develop the fighters enough.

tito ortiz always wanted the UFC to allow fighters to build up impressive w/l records to create more hype and mystique around fighters before giving the public the superstar matchups they wanted to see.

so is UFC ducking the fight, or is the rousey camp ducking the fight? or both?

I honestly think it's more dana white doing it than rousey camp. Having been around fighters all my life these dudes will fight anyone even if they know it could be an ass whooping in the making....
