Guy Uses Jack in the Box Coupons to Show How Fast Food Prices Changed in Just 3 Months

Hell yeah back in the early 2000's used to hit Wendy's or McDonalds and get two double burgers and a fry for under 5 bux.

Crazy, earlier this week I stopped by a lookout point by the airport with my kids. I stopped by to watch the planes take off for a few minutes. There was an ice cream truck there and my kids wanted ice cream, I said sure. I didn't really think to ask the price, I got 3 cones and gave the guy a $20 bill. I figured each cones would be $5 or $6 bucks. He said no it's $30, $10 a cone. I was like WTF. I had already given my kids the cones and I got one, so I was like fuck it and gave the guy an extra $10. But never again, that was straight up price gouging.

When you said airport, I braced myself. We went to a city square chicken wing festival and some of those trucks wanted $1.85 per wing.

Damn.

There’s definitely individuals with cheap eats..$5-$6 and even less depending on what you get.. I damn near have a thread showcasing some street food vendors.. some are cheap and still have good food

That proves the extra cost is to pay for staffing. That's why we need fully automated restaurants yesterday.

If a restaurant chain can find a way to compete with food carts on price and quality they will rule the restaurant industry overnight.

Extra cost is usually for rent, utilities, staff, and cause they found a gullible enough consumer to pay the price

So many restaurants have over-invested in ambiance and believe that people always want to pay for that. They won't, and in fact fewer and fewer can. The price of basic food, their raw materials has climbed enough and all those extra costs going into the price of a meal can be a deal breaker.

I think after the covid lock down people are willing to pay whatever the price to go out and eat. The restaurants have picked up on that and raised their prices and them joints stay packed

Don't know what Costco you go to, but all the Costcos around here are in white areas..... and even there..... someone watches everyone in the self-checkout.... at each one in use..... to help and to stop the stealing in that way
sidebar: no way the dude at the door checking your receipt and "allegedly" counting items is actually doing that, I've watched them..... and as busy as they are there are only two lines to leave.... besides, I wouldn't want the embarassment of getting caught and losing my membership, not worth it

.
The Costco I go to in Duncanville is in a primarily Black area
