That was fucking beautiful. When I did road work sometimes we had to remove manhole covers. Just the process alone of removing that cap was not taken lightly. You didn't want to make any sparks in case methane had built up in the vault. After the cover was off I'd drop an accordion type hose attached to a vacuum into the vault and come back in about 15 minutes. I know a man that got his foot crushed back in 1996 by a manhole cover that popped up in the air like a quarter from methane gas exploding. Suffice to say I don't throw anything lit into sewers or breather holes on manhole covers.
