Canada is proving my point. First they banned ARs and then a few months ago they went and banned all semi-auto pistols saying it would help save lives. Now they're looking to push legislation to ban all semi-auto hunting rifles leaving only bolt-action rifles because they claim the semi-auto rifles are too dangerous to be in public hands (see the proposed amendments to the C-21 bill) . How long before they create a new rationale to ban bolt-action rifles too claiming they're too dangerous. So are they gonna lump an AR style firearm chambered in 22lr or 9mm in the same class as .223/556 whenever someone makes a purchase? What about the person who buys a precision bolt-action higher end pistol? I don't recall ever seeing a receipt that specifies handgun vs rifle vs lever-action or bolt-action vs pump-action, etc..... Who's gonna parse out every receipt to verify these gun types? This is a subtle segway to trying to ban a whole lot more firearm types. Starts with 1 or two firearm types and eventually increases. Where does it end?![]()
