He's saying that he went to college to major in Eligibility.
Meaning he knew good and well he was never going to get a degree from the University Of Miami and decided a long time ago that the only way he would be sucessful was by playing football.
So he went to the University Of Miami and took just enough classes to keep playing college football so he would have the oppurtunity to play in the NFL.
So his "college education" (taking enough classes to stay eligible to play) set him up for his professional career. Football.
