EVERYTHING IN BOLD IS QUESTIONABLE, BRUH
You have no respect for other niggas' opinion, even though you aren't that different from them.
I can relate, I'm not a big gucci mane fan, but he ain't the worst. Hell, ain't nobody the best for that matter.
And Ghostface is certainly not even close, you gotta use a fucking decoder ring to understand that nigga. He use his own language, he's worse than E-40. Just because niggas don't understand him don't mean he's deep!!!
I like a few Ghostface songs...... but only a few.
I love to tell you.... but you pulled some sucker shit by writing them niggas up and taking they boom box. It would be different if you doing that had nothing to do w/ the music they were listening to, but you did the shit because you ain't like what they were listening to. So fucking Biased.
At least do the shit because they were being unprofessional or something. Then it wouldn't have mattered what they were listening to, it would have just been that it was the wrong place for that.
How you hate niggas that look exactly like you? That's coon shit if I ever heard of any. And for listening to an ART of music that you yourself listen to. You think Reggae artists hate Reggaeton artists? You think Coldplay hates Travis Barker? You think John Lennon hates Seal? Does Madonna hate Mariah Carey?
Gimme a fucking break.
Ain't no best at this shit man, its ART. A form of expression.
An art teacher once told us in class that he can't just grade us on art because of what it is.... its abstract. One art ain't better than another. The best he could do is teach us about the different elements of art and how to apply and/or implement them.
People don't compare Van Gogh to Picasso!!! WTF!!!

so do u think he is better than ghostface?
I would of CUT them GUCCI MANE listenin' ass niggaz too, not because their young and dumb, but because their youn, dumb AND listen to COOCHIE MAN
I'll take GhostFace for a 1000 Alex. His word play and the pictures he paints are crazy. Gucci mane mr zone 1-12 sitting in the trap 8 hrs a day. Setting drugs in the trap in the hood. Buying gucci but living in da hood. Get the hell outta here. Boys in the hood crack babies.![]()
I hate to see when they have kids.
ghost was one of the first (not the first) cats who didnt mind being vulnerable on tracks, he been showing us the other side of being a player, been showing us the other side of being a hustler, family man, etc. so many layers to ghost its a shame to call yourself a hip hop head and not know that.
ahhhh i see my youtube vids are getting love, thanks jagi!
on to the subject, Whoever listens to Gucci Mane and says him and ghost spit the same thing needs to add a disclaimer that they never listened to ghost heavy, or even sorta, ghost rhymes about poverty, about the struggle, about abstract shit, man listen here's a gucci (or project pat) challenge
Find me the equivalent of these tracks
The Watch
Verse from Impossible
The Forest (give up now)
Wildflower
All that i got is You
Malcom
The Mask (mf doom joint)
aahhh man i could go on and on

Naw I just don't think they should be compared. 2 different style there from 2 diferent eras. Not saying that Ghost doesn't do his thing right now. I used to be a really big Wu fanatic back in the day. And when Gucci came out I thought he was one of the worst rappers ever. But last year I really started to listen to his shit and became a fan. Him and his producer Zaytoven really got there own sound and I respect that shit because it bangs and that nigga is hilarious. I just think some of yall niggas never really listened to any of his shit or can't relate to it.

Im not adding any disclaimer. I dont have to.
I know Ghost's catalogue as well as you do. But having said that Ghost still spits goon shit about pumping cracks, robbing dudes, rolling dice, smoking dust, fucking ghetto bitches, his shit is pure 100% Stapleton project life regardless of how artistic he may portray it.
Whether its more creative is another question altogether, but dont cry about how rapping about guns and crack is so bad for black America like homie did, and then praise Ghost because he's on the same shit.
Perhaps it is you who needs to spit the disclaimer if you can honestly tell me you are not aware that Ghost references the same lifestyle and behavior Gucci does.
so.... what the fuck does that have to do with his music???"If you ever come to East Atlanta...ask anybody is Gucci gangsta?"
Well if we are talking the bigger point then yes I absolutely agree.
Again it isnt the content its the presentation.
Few would argue that Scorcese is anything short of a genius, or that Coppola isnt one of the best who ever did it.
But to complain about the Sopranos demeaning Italians with bad stereotypes and then say, award Scorcese a Knights of Columbus image award would be a bullshit double standard, thats all I am trying to point out.
Why do you want me to check the intro to the purple tape? I was just listening to it yesterday...what about it?
Fuck East Atlanta. Its' musik nigga kats don't live their life by it. Let me take that back I was talking about the south.
GHostface is a legend forever! I remember meeting that nigga when supreme clieintele came out at the mall! I had him sign my cd and 3 years later somebody stole it! trust me Ill run into him again!

Im saying its better that than shit like in the D where Cheddar Boys are too busy killing each other over beef than making music. Then you got Trick Trick with his superthug ass, and RIP Proof but damn maybe yall niggas keep it slightly TOO real. Whats the good use of street cred if you dont live long enough to cash it in and transition out of the game?

The whole "Tired of this street bullshit there's more to life than this" theme?
first off i wasnt even directing that to you, but since the line did address you indirectly let me state that, yes i listened to gucci mane, i have some of his songs in my car now. No i havent listened to Gucci as much as Ghost, but thats because of time, content, and age slash priorities i have now (as opposed to when i was a kid)
Secondly, i never was one to say portraying what goes on in the hood is bad, i will say that if you can't do it cleverly or by inserting gems in here and there then its counter productive. Look at any of my past posts on hip hop, i love Styles P, whenever any cat i know spit street shit, i always says if your gonna take that avenue you should try to be more creative, you either gotta be at or past a styles p level or try something different.
Gucci's two biggest weapons IMO is his humour and his credibility to say he really does what he raps about. Both of these things aren't high enough to match the strengths of Ghostface. that was my point in saying to say they say the same shit is wrong. Yes they have overlapping subject matter, but please believe from what i've heard, Gucci has never tackled the subject matters that Ghost has, even though Ghost has tackled the ones that gucci has (except being a blood)
Finally, my whole point was that the OP missed an opportunity to bridge the gap with his younger fellows as well as build a relationship with his younger workers that could have flourished and opened their eyes, im in the hood with the young boys about 2-3 days a week, and we talk about how fashion is gay now, they think it isnt i dont preach, but they always watch videos in my cars and talk about music, so what do i do i bring the jada milli verse (tight clothes tight pants all these homosapiens) the lloyd banks freestyle (im a g, tight clothes aint my thang yo) or even the jap city (chi cats dissing the whole homo culture) that way i m not preaching but i m inserting lil bits of what i think will reach them, as well as bringing whack ass shit like Splash in the ride for them.
Again, i know you know your hip hop i ve seen your posts in other threads, but truth be told Ghost is more than just what ppl are saying, he doesnt just spit babble ( i challenge anyone to quote a line that they think is pure babble and im sure i can find the meaning of it.....) and he drops gems since his first memorable verse on After the Laughter all the way to Purple tape to Big Doe Rehab fuck with that steak it'll feed ya!
so.... what the fuck does that have to do with his music???
