The multiplayer portion of GTA V, dubbed Grand Theft Auto Online, is now live on Xbox Live and, according to Sony, the PlayStation Network.
The update is 59MB and GTA Online comes via a title update in the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live.
After you install that update, you will unlock GTA Online in the Grand Theft Auto V game menu. Then, you can enter the game with the fourth (bottom) slot in the GTA V character wheel or via an online tab when GTA V is paused.

Once GTA actually came out and pretty much said "there WILL be issues with GTA:O launch", I knew it would be serious lol. I hoped not but I knew better.

fuck that shit. Had to make my character like 7 fucking times! Each time he look like he DJ Quik and Krayzie Bone cousin or some shit. Caught on to doing solo online and it worked...till I got off the plane then I got booted. Did get the 'off the plane' trophy tho so theres that....

It doesn't matter which mission you pick because you don't have to play them through. Pick any mission you want. Drop a grenade on the floor so that you die. Then cancel out of the replaying of the mission. When you get back to the regular game, you will have the property and your money.
That online shit fucked up my single player game!

Rockstar Games rolled out its Grand Theft Auto Online update for Grand Theft Auto 5 earlier today, but you might want to back up your save file before diving in, as some users are reporting lost progress after installing a required patch.
A Joystiq tipster writes in with word that their single-player campaign save file was erased following patch installation, ending a playthrough at around 70 percent completion. NeoGAF and Rockstar Support users confirm similar glitches, reporting missing weapons, unresponsive character switching, and an inability to progress in story mode.
While many players have installed the update without issue, others report hard-lock freezes and character creation difficulties within the game's GTA Online component, and for some, the single-player mode is effectively unplayable. Rockstar has posted a list of known multiplayer issues, but has not yet commented on reported single-player glitches.
"The GTAV Title Update to enable Grand Theft Auto Online access has been rolling out this morning on PSN and Xbox LIVE across territories worldwide," Rockstar explained in a comment here. "As mentioned last week, you should expect that there will be some technical teething issues in the early days of a new online experience especially one as massive as GTA Online – you can stay apprised at the Rockstar Support site here. Thank you all for your patience, understanding and support!"

Yep what Gemini just posted. I stopped right where Michael just got to his premiere. I tried to get online and it took me straight to the first big heist mission. So I was like cool. Next thing it jumps back to the cut scene AFTER the mission it just skipped. So I go to steal a car for Lester with 35 g from my stock account from the heist. Upgrade at ls custom is 9g. I go in and it fails me saying I don't have enough money. 3 times.
This is where i am now. Shit just froze up. ill try again later, then if it don't work ill just go at it again tomorrow. I'm in no rush they said it would be crazy, so I'm cool with waiting.
Once i get on though i grind so I'll catch up/level up fairly quickly.

Man...that shit is so much FUN online! It may be a wasted time trying, but once you get on it's so damn worth it.

Solo csmpaign...bought grove st gs4sge..its in the heart of the purpke gangs territory...went up ro the roof with a sniper rifle. ..easy pickins....
