At one point, Ja did indirectly check him when he was referring to Ashanti as a bitch. However, Ja also stated he was cool with both and tries to stay out of it. I probably would have done the same as Ja. Later Irv apologized to women in general for calling women bitches.
Outside of the bitch comment Irv really didn't say much that was disrespectful. Outside of the story with the shower and the bitch comment he gave Ashanti credit for earning her spot and putting in work. He's allowed to discuss his life as he sees fit. In some ways, it fit given that he was promoting a show about Murder Inc. He started to talk about Loyd, but I think Nore cut him off.
Personally, the same could be said of Fat Joe. If you're cool with Ja and Irv, why not call them instead of saying it on social media.

I was going to mention the VS thing especiallysince it was mentioned during the interview, but I was giving Joe benefit of a doubt given that he's worked with Ashanti and seem to be cool.
Irv always came off to me as a sucka. Somebody trying too hard to be accepted. Shit was ridiculous to even bring the shit up and made him look like a fool in the end.

I get the impression the feelings may have been one sided especially if you consider their positions. Ashanti is the young female artist and Irv is the owner of the label she is on. Irv says Ashanti earned her spot but we don't know if that is true and more importantly did Ashanti feel like she had to fuck Irv to get future or past records? The alternative is she willingly fucked Irv to get records and didn't feel pressured. Best case Ashanti liked Irv ,but overall they were just fucking in her mind.
People say Ashanti doesn't speak on it, but the reality is it isn't in her interest to do so unless Irv was outright lying about their relationship. At best, she didn't earn her spot and fuck for records. Even if that isn't true, no one believes the relationship started after Irv was separated from his wife. If Ashanti attempts to say she thought Irv was separated, she runs the risk of the wife/ex wife saying Ashanti is lying. Being known as or reminded that she is a home wrecker who potentially fucked for records hurts her brand.
Ironically, how can you cry about your side chick being disloyal when you were potentially cheating on your wife.
This isn't hurting Ashanti 20 years later man. No one cares and she isn't Beyonce. So even if she was labeled a homewrecker today no one gives a shit. All her true fans are in their 40s now. Hell some are grandparents now.

I mostly agree with you. However, you don't want to chance anything hurting your brand. Your brand goes beyond 40 year old fans. You never know who you may try to work with who may feel a way about certain behavior regardless of when it may happened. Your brand is also how you are marketed to others who you want to do business with. My point was at no point in time would it been advantages for Ashanti to speak on this.
As for Irv being in his feelings 20 years later, this is not just about their past relationship to me. Some of his behavior may be based on more recent events.irv mentioned trying to get Ashanti to be a part of the reunion tour and documentary. Ashanti didn't want to do it. Ashanti clearly wants her masters and Irv didn't want to give it to her. She goes on to try to redo her songs. Allegedly Irv let Ashanti leave Murder Inc when he didn't have to do so. In Irv's mind right or wrong Ashanti was disloyal in the past and is currently not respecting what he did for her career in the past. Basically Ashanti is fucking with the money on some level and clearly Irv's ego. From a business perspective, I think alot of people get where Irv is coming from. Most just don't agree with getting drunk on a public platform and discussing the romantic part of the relationship.
Even if it's just he's still in his feelings romantically, some men and women are like that. For some people time does not heal all wounds. For example, my father and his ex wife still talk shit about each other from time to time. They have not been together for 30 plus years and my brother is grown. That being said they still check on each other from time to time. Just because the love was 30 years ago doesn't necessarily mean the feelings go away negatively or positively.
