Conway was right and he wasn't specifically telling Flex to play their music.
He was saying that they needed to play New York artists, basically the grimy street music and not always the most popular. But they're not going to do that until the artist and song gets popular which is the problem.
That's been said for years, I remember Ebro defending playing the type of music Hot 97 was playing years ago.
In short, NYC radio isn't breaking or introducing new NY artists, they're playing the same popular bs as other radio stations.
And that's what Conway and many NY artists complain about.
