Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and Democratic candidate Beto O'Rourke will face off in the race for governor this November.

The big picture: Abbott on Tuesday night secured the Republican Party's nomination for re-election, while the Democrats made 2020 presidential candidate O'Rourke their nominee for governor as they hope to end decades of losses in the red state, per AP.

Meanwhile, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton appeared headed to a runoff in a night when other statewide Republican incumbents were cruising to big victories.

What's next: Expect the most expensive gubernatorial campaign in Texas — and possibly U.S. — history.

I truly wish Beto win this shit but Texas is on some real hardcore ignorant shit so who the fuck knows. Nothing abou texas makes any goddamn sense. They had a choice before and picked dumb ass Cruz, now they stay getting fucked and love it, why? because as long as the federal government not fucking them, they don't give a fuck who does fuck them. With that said... I see abbott prevailing because texas don't give a fuck.

No! A lot of people are still pissed with Governor hot wheels last year with that freeze event. The only thing people have to look out for is the Republicans in that state is going to cheat like Hell.

Abbott's gonna win despite the freeze that Texans will pay for until death, the messed up CPS system he runs, unpaid suicidal Texas Guard troops, and paper tag DPS system.

BTW MF's couldn't be bother to vote a known Civil Rights lawyer for Texas AG.

Democrats seeking the party’s nomination to take on Paxton include Joe Jaworski, a Galveston lawyer and former mayor of the city; Lee Merritt, a nationally known civil rights attorney from Plano; Rochelle Garza, a former lawyer for the American Civil Liberties Union from the Rio Grande Valley; and Mike Fields, a former Republican judge on the Harris County Criminal Court.

I think Beto will take it because his numbers were stronger than rolling ray…at least they were before I went to bed last night.

I also want ignorant ass Ken Paxton to go too.
Yeah from what I gather Abbott is frowned upon heavily from both sides of the political table... I think that even the republicans are willing to vote against him to get him out

Real talk, he came close to beating Abbott in 2018. That was before that fool couldn't keep the lights on. Back that bullshit end around on abortion turning regular people into snitches and back restrictive voting laws. This fool even got on tv and said the answer to women who get pregnant by rapists and still have to bear those children was to arrest rapists.

He doubles down on his dumb shit and I hope it comes back to bite him right in the ass.

Fuck Greg Abbott.

I think he has a real chance the demos in tx are changing.
The perception is that Texas is a predominately Republican state and it isn't.
