One option is to get a disaster plan.It's a form of health insurance coverage that will cover a percentage of costs should you find yourself in some severe accident. It's called a disaster plan because the deductible is high (very), but the premium is low (as low as 70.00) a month. The problem is the deductible is so high none of your routine or preventive care will be covered.

If you have a family this isn't a good option. You could also look into a low cost plan that has a HSA attached (health savings account). They tend to be lower in premium because you are expected to deposit funds into your HSA to cover allowable expenses.
