Google runs into a problem with Nexus One trademark (iPhone haters welcome)

I classify it as a WIN for Apple because they can use the name iPhone and they were awarded a trademark patent from the USPO. I don't know how to quantify a "true" win. It's just a WIN.

Uhh.... so what Cisco can use the name also... the iPhone is already a success and every knows when they hear the word 'iPhone" they relate it to Apple, not Cisco.

It can't be compared to the Nexus One because the USPO DENIED their trademark application.

Your lies are actually painful to read. Apple did not WIN anything. They settled with Cisco and Cisco still retained rights to use the name. So how would you classify that as a true win when Apple was never awarded the exclusive and outright trademark to use Iphone.
