Regarding to Google, "Google Chrome is a browser that combines a minimal design with sophisticated technology to make the web faster, safer, and easier". Unfortunately, each Google Chrome installation contains a unique ID that allowing identifying its user. Google doesn't make it an easy job to remove this ID.

UnChrome helps you with this task. It replaces your unique ID with Null values so that your browser cannot be identified any longer. The functionality of Google Chrome is not influenced by this.

You only need to apply UnChrome once.

If Google Chrome is started now then please close it. Afterwords, please click on the link below to anonymize your Chrome installation.

Good shit. I just knew Google was slipping some dirty shit in there.

Before (or just after - I forget) it came out, Google had to get rid of a loaded and highly charged line in their EULA because there was so much outcry about invasion of privacy.

It basically said anything you post, write, or search using Chrome becomes property of Google and they can log and reference it for their purposes. By using their browser, you lose rights to it.

It was pretty fucked up and their lawyers in the 11th hour had to strike the language from the EULA.

You are one of the only cats on bgol that can post an exe that I'd click.

Good find though.

Thanks man. I ran it through Avast and Malwarebytes after the download then I tested it myself. I got the info from reading the NYTimes technical pages on the net and they did a story on Google Chrome and went into detail on it; enough so I tried it then brought the info here. Good stuff though.

@Makk
You on some contrarian type thing but I respect your opinion. Whats up with Chrome? No add ons, what?

So is Chrome the shit??? Has it gotten better??? I remember when I first put it on it was dinging my firewall every damn five minutes trying to connect to the net but somebody told me to turn off the auto updates so I may try that.

So what's the overall consensus on it so far???

lol its funny they changed the wording of the eula but didnt touch the software, ive tried chrome though but dont see any speed diffrence, with firefox if u use the noscript and adblock addons pages will load much faster because ur not downloading all the extra java and scripts unless u want to.

It could use some plug-ins but I like it just fine. It loads fast which is important to me. I think it will improve over time.

I don't know why everyone is going crazy over Google "Tracking" you and using the info to throw relevant ads or spam your way. What do you think "cookies" have been doing for the past 15 years in EVERY other browser?

Just use Opera of Firefox

Safari for windows is fast also

I thought I would get SeaMonkey and give it a shot too. It doesn't need nearly the ram Firefox needs and it's got themes and plug in's like noscript and Adblock. I'm on it now.
