LA and OKC... OKC is a damn football state plus the rams signed a deal to have one home game a year for 3 or 5 yrs overseas like london... don't be shocked if expansion also includes an overseas team if the rams are successful over there, next yr even the pats play in london for a game. u could see St. Louis lose the rams to LA and a new team go to london and OKC replace the rams in their division.
i'd like no teams here if not the raiders...who needs blackouts? right now la gets multiple TV games every weekend, between that and nfl red zone it's all good
most likely scenario?
2 teams to la in the end...
1. st. louis...owner wants to buy dodgers, move rams out of st. louis, and build nfl stadium at chavez ravine next to dodger stadium
2. the new jacksonville jags owner is st. louis guy...he would want to move the jags to st. louis after they build a new stadium to attract a team there once the rams leave
3. then either the raiders move south...OR the chargers move north to aeg center next to staples center
when in doubt, follow the $...each franchise involved would see the worth of their franchises increase about 50% over several years after relocating...and all of the franchises mentioned here are in the lower tier right now...in the NFL it's all about the revenue stream, and that starts with a new stadium
i don't see expansion in the near future. once the shuffle is over, only jacksonville would be left out of the mix...and the nfl isn't going back there once the jags leave...nfl stays 32
They actually said a London team schedule would not be too bad. They would play their 1st game on the road so a team would have ample time to prepare.
They would then play four games in a row at home then three straight on the road, then four at home then the last game of the season on the road.
The league is moving to Thursday night games week 2-15. So teams that played on Thursday night will play in London the following week so they have a week and a half to implement a game, travel and adjust for the time change.
