Go and look for yourself: Not sure when GNN officially closed. But it says on the wiki that it closed on the 16th. But im guessing the crumbling of our country's economy was a contributing factor.

Now that is a sign of the reality of alternative news sites about to collapse.

GNN was such a well put together site. They had great documentaries,blogs,news,op-ed,contributors. It was one of the best places for "alternative" news. It kind of is obvious no one wants the majority of the public to be informed on controversial issues. And it's a hell of a way to end a year for 2009. Where is my passport again? I have a feeling this is the first of many news sites to go dark. Is Buzzflash next? Who do you think is next to go? What a tragedy that no one really steps up to invest in all this internet infrastructure.
