Go and look for yourself: Not sure when GNN officially closed. But it says on the wiki that it closed on the 16th. But im guessing the crumbling of our country's economy was a contributing factor.

Now that is a sign of the reality of alternative news sites about to collapse. :smh: :smh:

GNN was such a well put together site. They had great documentaries,blogs,news,op-ed,contributors. It was one of the best places for "alternative" news. It kind of is obvious no one wants the majority of the public to be informed on controversial issues. And it's a hell of a way to end a year for 2009. Where is my passport again? I have a feeling this is the first of many news sites to go dark. Is Buzzflash next? Who do you think is next to go? What a tragedy that no one really steps up to invest in all this internet infrastructure. :smh:

I think maybe a change of management and GNN decided the time/energy/ they put into it did not pay off. I think having sites like Rawstory didn't help that site. It's funny because conservative sites if you just rally up to Sarah Palin and the GOP, the money train doesn't stop. Everyone needs to make a living I guess. You can only feed the stove so much with your own fuel. :dunno:
