My disappointment exists on many levels right now. What REALLY pisses me off is that Obama has Balls Mas Grande when he's pushing through some shit that HE wants to do (i.e. the fucked up bank bailout, sending thousand more troops to Afganistan, etc.), but when it comes to the people's agenda...his balls magically ascend into his chest cavity.

I can't totally blame Obama for having to let Jones go, because this is mostly bad timing. Neither Obama nor the Dems can afford to have Van Jones be a distraction right now. And he would have been that this week, a week where Obama may be making the most important speech of his presidency so far. So I get it. But what I think most progressives wanted to see was for Van Jones to be a big FUCK YOU to the right wing. And what's worse is that Glenn Beck's retarded ass was the catalyst.

And let me tell y'all this.... If Obama doesn't make the speech of his life this week and get Health Care Reform back on track with something that makes Progressives happy, Obama will become the Black Jimmy Carter. A guy who will spend the next 3 years virtually useless.

I support President Obama and I voted for him, but he’s going to have to toughen up if he wants to get reelected. Being smart is great, but Americans respect toughness even more (look at George W. Bush and his two terms). It’s not just the Black community that unfortunately values toughness over smarts. He told the truth. To be honest Jones was one of the few 100% real cats in the administration and inside the administration may not be a place for that type person.

Beck obviously has influence over more than poor white trash if his initial "outing" of Jones ends up forcing him to step down. At least he will pump it up that way. This episode helps him tremendously.

BTW stepping down means the administration has decided not to support Van Jones in that position for whatever reason and has asked him to leave. Like someone said, maybe they dont want Jones to pull the conversation away from healthcare at this critical time. Its not like dude is just walking away from the job. Their is a big difference between being critical of the president and just flat out hate the guy.......Me and alot of people want the president to succeed but when you have a party who is scare of the angry Republicans and dont and want to look as too liberal its a problem.......The Democrats always fold every single time to the Republicans....the Democrats controls Congress and they still cant get shit done....it dont help when you have Blue Dog Democrats voting with the Republicans most of the time *cough*Lieberman ....Obama even folded on that issue when most of the Democrats wanted his ass out the party....
