shame people allow themselves to be told they are something based on a notion of the descendant of the people that enslaved their ancestors. How that society views you should be how you view yourself. At least that is how I see it. Why adopted their ideas of what you are? Why pray to the same god as them? Why base anything on any notion that they created? I'm not even talking about individual people but the institutions.

The whole issue apparently merited discussion because three of the available boxes to check in order to identify your race are "Black," "African-American" and "Negro."
Beck was quick to clarify:
African-American is a bogus, PC, made-up term. I mean, that's not a race. Your ancestry is from Africa and now you live in America. Ok, so you were brought over -- either your family was brought over through the slave trade or you were born here and your family emigrated here or whatever but that is not a race.
Think Progress notes that on an earlier program, Beck had admitted that he didn't have "a lot of African-American friends, and I think part of it is because I'm afraid that I would be in an open conversation, and I would say something that somebody would take wrong, and then it would be a nightmare."

Of course "africanAmerican" is a made up term, just like Italian-american, mexican american, etc. These terms simply note your familys place of origin. But what does he mean by Politically correct. What does he feel we should be called, Black or negro?
B/c of the diaspora, how would a "black" person be able to identify with a particular country, say like Kenyan-American? We call people French-American or Italian-American because they know the specific Country from which their ancestry comes, European american applies to all orinating in Europe, just like African-American.

the classification we call "race" is made up. Are we not the only species on the planet that has that classification? Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Order, Family, Genus... humans are the only ones that break down into "race." Beck will never tell his followers that the word race doesn't exist though. White people, are essentially, black people that turned white due to less sun in the north and lack of Vitamin D. It's as simple as that.
If black people migrated to Canada and stayed there over the next 50,000 years, they would turn white with straight hair.
If white people migrated to Sudan and stayed there over the next 50,000 years, they would turn black with curly hair.
