there really is no absolute answer when it comes to seeing nonphysical phenomena..with sleep paralysis/the mind awake, body asleep state its usually the imagination...i've woke up seeing images hovering over me, hearing dog bark(clairaudience), seeing spiders run across my wall and having random images or words appearing on my wall..a whole lotta other shit...most of it is images from your dream overlapping onto the physical from you waking up so abruptly..people usually have sleep paralysis experiences from a fucked up sleep schedule...there really is no absolute answer to this...a lot of this goes way deeper than you think and my bring up a conversation i dont think youd feel like getting in as it might only freak you out even more
 
ghosts are lost spirits who usually died so abruptly that they think they're still alive which is why when people move in haunted houses people see them walking around like its nothing...they're going through their daily routine as they did when they're alive
