Let me just do this to get it out of the way before I get hurt

If you’re not from NYC, New York pizza’s just aight. Yes there’s many specific spots in NYC where you can go to to get pizza where it’s great.

If you’re not from NYC and take a first bite into a slice, you’re not gonna do this

I like pizza, A LOT! I’ve had pizza in New York, it a was aight but the same pizza could’ve been made damn near anywhere.

And if you got beef with what I said,

Naw, NYC and NJ got a certain water that makes the pizza better. It’s a fact. Nowhere else can make pie like here. Also some places actually buy NY water to make their pies.

I know about the water, I know a place in LA and Florida that ships they water from NYC to their restaurants.

You’re talking to a pizza connoisseur

Again, you’re if you’re not going to a specific specialty pizza place the pizza’s gonna taste like…

Pizza.

so having lived for years in NYC I have to add the:

fuck you mean, mah nigga!?!?!?

but

having had pies all around the world I will say that NYC is not the end all Be all. Surprisingly enough, I had better pizza in Poland and Tacoma Washington than a lot of spots in NY.

There is a spot in Port Washington (Nassau County) that is very good, though I have no idea why a black Person would be that far north in Nassau County….

Additionally, I’m not saying their pizza isn’t good. I’m just saying when a person not from NYC takes a bite they’ll most likely not be impressed.

Because people talk about it like it’s the best pizza in the world and when you taste it, it’s good\aight but you’re not blown away. At least I wasn’t.

But I still get it every time I’m in NYC in NYC so go figure!

It’s like the first time I had a cheesesteak from Philly. I was thinking “This is it”? It tasted like many other cheesesteaks that I’ve had.

I still need to go to Dalessandro’s because I’ve heard there’s is the best!

And no I didn’t go to Pat’s or Geno’s because I heard that they’re wack.

Thank you for understanding where I’m coming from.

Now I’m not saying that New York pizza isn’t good. I’m just saying that everyone’s told it’s the best and that NY makes the best pizza. And when an out of tow we had it, they most likely won’t get the hype or feel that it’s the best.

And there’s good pizza spots all over we jus have to find’em

I see it's more of the NY exceptionalism in this thread. NYC niggas can't take any criticism. When all arguments fail y'all go to the "You're not from my so you don't understand" or "your opinions are irrelevant because you ain't from NYC..." Just face facts, I said it before, and I'll say it again... NY cats can not fathom that their pizza is officially mid. And for you Chicago cats... If you can't pick it up with your bare hands, it ain't pizza. Call that shit y'all got savoy Italian cake or Italian style casserole, pepperoni upside down pie or some shit like that...

Yes the video’s 3 years old but it’s pre-pandemic so it’s valid. Yes he’s white but he went to 23 spots and gives some insight.

And don’t get the wrong impression because I do like New York pizza, I just wasn’t blown away. I also like Detroit and Chicago pizzas.

Come on man, I ain’t wanna say all that!

But there’s lots of truth in what you said regarding the criticism.

Come over to New Jersey for the best pie

Nothing better than home made pizza anyway.

I like Herbo as an artist in the same way I like RZA and Silk the Shocker, but his opinion isn't to be taken to heart.

Miss him and Juice WRLD on them joints:fuckyousay:

Herbo has a point. You can't just go anywhere in NYC and get a good slice. That is true.

He said you can go anywhere in Chicago and do that. I don't know if that is true.

It’s a fair point and I get what you mean, but I’ve yet to see anyone disagree with an NY slice. I’ve taken friends and family up whenever they’re in the States, and I’ve not once heard anything less than blown away. And as a fellow pizza connoisseur, I can confidently say that I’ve had pizza in every corner of this country, including several trips to Milan and Rome, and with exception to Seattle which I haven’t tried, I personally am not putting any of it above NYC.

You ever tried Spumoni Gardens? Ridiculous.

As for Philly, do yourself the favor and get to Dalessandro’s asap. Best steak in this country no question.

best pizza in the world is in southern italy, Napoli to be exact

Time for the BGOL monthly pizza slap fight. Like I've said before, Chicago's thin crust pizza is probably the best pizza I've ever had and I've tried almost every style mentioned in these threads. I'll also reiterate that deep dish is not true Chicago pizza. It's been ridiculously hyped up by foreign tourist, out of towners, fags and honkies. So if you think deep dish represents Chicago pizza, you're most likely a member of one or a combination of the previous mentioned groups.

I respeck it
