Seems like he offed himself to nullify the results of the election he just lost.. he knew if you don't finish your term in GA, the Gov either has to hold a special election or appoint someone (that's how he became judge in 2022). Appointees can only serve a 2 yr term instead of 4, so he had to run for election in Nov and lost to a woman after a recount.

He tried resigning weeks ago but Gov Kemp rejected it... so this was his last option
