The spirit of the law was to penalize adults who sexually abuse minors. This was a case of TEENAGERS consentually participating in sexual acts at a New Years Party. It should have never gone this far. Under no circumstance should a statute which was created to target CHILD MOLESTATION been allowed to prosecute this young man under these facts. The DA fucked up. Again, read the Supreme Court opinion you dumb fuck!

Lastly, there was NEVER a need to apply the Romeo/Juliette exception considering all parties involved admitted to willfully participating in the incident and there was clearly no malicious intent or predatory behavior on the part of fellow TEENAGER, Genarlow Wilson. Anyone invoking such nonsense is only attempting to excuse this horrendous ordeal while refusing to acknowledge its lunacy.

Based on that description, would you still call it consensual sex IF THAT WAS YOUR DAUGHTER?

An under-aged teen can NEVER CONSENT TO SEX; and an older teen doesn't avoid prosecution because of, "no malicious intent"; YOUR BLACK ASS IS MAKING UP LAWS AS YOU GO ALONG; that's not how the LAW WORKS when it comes to stat rape, or Agg. Child Molestation IN THE STATE OF GA.; in other words a 17 y/o cannot get caught with a 15 or 16 y/o female and then say, "she's my girl, there's no bad intentions, so let me go home"; SHIT DID NOT WORK THAT WAY at the time he was sentenced (the law has since been amended to have a Romeo & Juliette exemption that will give you ONLY A MISDEMEANOR, punishable by less than 1 YEAR IN JAIL, it is still a CRIME THOUGH!)

The law was not intended for consenting school kids,it was designed for adults that prey on children so the Wilson case has no effect on anybody else in prison.

The law was also changed so that it wouldn't ever impact consenting school kids again....Why wasn't Baker appealing and fighting that..

He is an arrogant ass who wouldn't admit that the law was misapplied in this case and Wilson should have never been charged under it..Wilson was a good student who had oportunity to go to colege for free.taking that away from him served not one citizen in the state of georgia.....I would be willing to wager if the girl had been black,Wilson wouldn't have even faced a misdemeanor.

When Wilson got caught, the law was set up so that it was a 10 yr. prison sentence if the girl was under-aged and sodomy takes place, in Ga. Oral Sex is sodomy; the girl was under-aged; after he had been in jail, the law changed the offense to a 1 yr. MISDEMEANOR if they were close in age and were both under 18; When they changed the LAW, THE STATE LEGISLATURE DID NOT COMMUTE THE SENTENCES OF THOSE THAT WERE AFFECTED BY THE OLD LAW (I think there were about 50 to 60 in the entire prison system), Wilson was on of those folks, this is why he had to go through all sorts of appeals to get out of JAIL, a lot of ELECTED BLACK DEMOCRATS IN THE STATE LEGISLATURE DIDN'T DO JACK SHIT, when they should have commuted the sentences at the time the law was changed.

What he did was changed AFTER he was convicted, and it was changed to what is still A CRIME IN THE STATE OF GA., a misdemeanor.

Please tell me how he has a case, and on what grounds should he sue?
