The whole industry is disproportionate so of course every break down will be the same. U expect an actor to act regardless the role as long as it doesn't compromise some something in the individual. But that's up to the individual to decide. Where one actor may not be able to play a rape victim another may not have a problem with it, drug dealer, prisoner, vietnam war vet etc. ; an actor acts, a comedian tells jokes. Dude was grasping but yeah, there is a gay conspiracy in Hollywood. Check the commentary on jay and Silent Bob strike back. GLAD threatened to have the entire production canned because one of the characters insults another by saying "your so gay". They even had to go so far as to film a scene where the two characters, both female, were kissing so that they could put the film out.

Folks can disagree with the equalizing of homosexuality to heterosexuality in the media, that certainly seems legitimate...but that shit is not happening on any "sub" level; it's been right out there in the open for twenty years. You have some good points, but I should of been much more clear in describing what point I was trying to make. I'm fully aware that homosexuality has been portrayed vigorously for some time now, but you have to admit that goes along with conditioning.
The more often you see something the more it becomes the norm, does it not? That is entirely a whole other spectrum that wasn't mentioned much in this thread. Now the subliminal advertising that we see in advertising, commercials, and magazines is what I was originally talking about. Now that I think about it was a bit off from the subject matter but hey.
Now the responsibility of the parents to apprehend their children and raise them to the best of their ability is a legitimate argument, but when you take into consideration the black family structure in this country, that is not a good sign.
It's true that Glaad protested, but you have the series of events all wrong. Glaad complained only after the film was released. (They had no other way of knowing what was in the film.) The gay-girls plotline was shot but didn't make the film. Without the footage showing they were dykes, the "You're so gay" joke lost its irony and seemed like a "gay" = lame, wack, stupid, etc. joke. Glaad always complains about that kind of shit, but it's not like they were on set. Kevin Smith's commentary drew attention to the fact that it wasn't a homophobic joke at all, but an ironic joke about homophobia -- that even gays use "gay" as a friendly diss.

I mentioned this topic to a gay friend of mine. She said the gay agenda might be a lot more organic than deliberate. Up until the last 100-200 years women were not allowed to act which meant that male actors had to play both male and female roles. In order to play the female role effectively the actor had to get in touch with his feminine emotions in ways that most men never have to. As a result many of them discovered that they were gay; however, if they had never became actors they never would have figured it out. It's similar to guys who do long bids in prison.
With homosexuality being banned, and in some cases grounds for execution, the theater became known as a safe haven for gays and many of them became actors as well. Eventually those actors became directors, script writers, producers and so forth until, just recently, they started to hold the balance of power. According to her modern theater and by extension television and movies were never really a straight institution to begin with.
