I like the thought of a built in blu-ray, but could you really appreciate it on a 16" screen? I also think you need 1080p for it to really make a difference. Most likely any 1080p set you come up on will already have a blu-ray attached cause some are less $150, with a remote. I hate watching video without a remote.

back in the day i would mosdef agree with the skepticism. But my friend (we are both IT professionals) has had a gateway laptop for at least the last 4 years and has had no issues except for normal wear and tear...for 500 bucks it's a good deal.

My boy picked one up for me Friday with his.

It does have HDMI out @1080p and the i5...HUGE mistake on somebody's watch at Gateway because they are all labeled i3, EVEN on the stickers.
