Dragon Fire is MUCH HOTTER than a regular (match lit) fire.
It's more like a Volcano-level of heat.
That's why the Lannister soldiers (and the Tarlys) turned to ash.... almost instantly.
A normal fire burns at 750 degrees Fahrenheit...
But it takes 2.5 hours to burn (i.e. Cremate) a human body to ashes.... using a constant (1800 degrees Fahrenheit) source of heat.
That should give you an idea of 'how super hot' Drogon's breath is... if he is turning folks to ash within mere seconds.
So an Ice Dragon is just the opposite of a Fire Dragon.
It's breath is ridiculously SUPER COLD.
In theory, it's probably close to an'Absolute zero'-level of cold.... which could melt an ice cube directly into gas. (via sublimation)
That's why it could melt the Wall... almost like a (sub-zero) cold-laser. (its a fantasy show, so it uses some 'creative license' to make it work
)

Although they handled it well, one of my fears about that whole "parlay" scene was that Jon and Daenerys wouldn't be able to hang on-screen with Cersei. Lena Headey is a far better act0r than Emilia Clarke and Kit Harrington.
