To create 'CHAOS' between the Lannisters and the Starks.
Littlefinger THRIVES on chaos.
He uses it.... 'as a ladder'.... to get ahead in the Kingdom.
Everytime there is a war, or conflict, or a major battle... HE usually gains... something.
Like a Castle. Or land. Or another Title to his name.
Pitting the Lannisters against the Starks would make King Robert have to 'choose a side'.
Either his wife & her family.... or his best friend.
If Ned accused the Lannisters of killing Bran (while they were visiting Winterfell).... and the King took Cersei's side.... it would've started another War.
And Ned would never become (or remained as) the Hand of the King.
And the Northerners would have declared Ned.... the King of the North.
Just like they did for 2 of his sons.But King Robert would never send his Army to fight in the North.. because they are not built for the cold weather. They would lose badly.
So Ned would've rallied all the Northern Lords and marched right down to Kings Landing.
To get justice for his dead son. (Just like Oberyn Martell wanted justice for his dead sister.)
And in all the mayhem.... Littlefinger would climb higher & 'gain something else'... once again.... after all the dust had settled.
Preferably the Iron Throne itself. (which has always been his goal

Jamie man, what an incredible actor. Usually actors have about 1 or 2 facial expressions that's supposed to mean everything. In that walker scene alone he had about 20 of them in the span of 1 minute.
When he saw the thing, froze and didn't stop it from getting to Cersei the shock of it all and then finding out there were 100k more of them out there?
