People root for the Starks because... Well quite frankly, compared to the other Major Houses & Lords... The Starks are... BY FAR.... 'the lesser evil'.

Their ruling style is kinda like... "Do whatever you want in the North, and if you have a problem (or a major dispute with your neighbor) bring it to us and we will try to settle it fairly. And if you ever need us for a fight, we DEFINITELY got your back... So we hope you got OURS, in return."

They are like the ultimate 'wingmen' of Westeros, so to speak.

They always try to do the 'right thing'... Even when the 'right thing' is not 'the smartest thing' to do.

Basically, they kinda represent the best type of 'Justice'. (Even though they are not perfect. )

And none of them actually WANT to be King. Unlike the other Lords of Westeros.

Think about it...

Just look at the 'ruling styles' of the other Houses....

The Lannisters only want to be 'feared'.
They give 'zero fucks' about being fair.
They don't give a shit about 'the common folks'.
As an Artist, Record Label, and Staff.... They are just Bitter. Petty. And Jealous.
Everything they do... is only done to increase their OWN (individual) personal benefit, land and/or wealth.

The Boltons just want to skin people alive.
Their 'ruling style' is pure evil... with a side-order of madness.
They are TRULY... 'agents of chaos'.
Even Heath Ledger's Joker would want to knuckle-up and 'shoot a fair one' with Ramsay for stealing his 'shine'.

Littlefinger is way too shiesty.
He thrives on chaos & disorder.
Even his 'schemes' have 'plots' of their own.
So his 'ruling style' could be summed up in 2 words... 'Fuck it'.

They Freys cannot be trusted at all.
They are the 'habitual line-steppers' of Westeros.
In a land where your 'word is bond'... Sacred Oaths mean absolutely nothing to them.
Because they can & will double-cross ANYONE at the drop of a hat.

The Baratheons are stoic & stubborn.
They rule through pure violence.
They are not very diplomatic, at all.
And have zero 'empathy' for their subjects.
Their massive egos & pride have been the very downfall of Robert, Stannis & Renly.
Basically, if you want someone to SMASH nuccas in they whole mouthpiece on the battlefield .... Call on THAT House.
But if you don't want someone to fuck your wife (or sons, or your pastor ) while you're out in the field 'gathering the crops'... hang up the Raven.

The Greyjoys can't even function properly on 'dry land'.
They rule by 'drowning' all their subjects. (Then hope they live to 'pay taxes' )
So their 'Aquaman' tendencies are not conducive to ruling 'dry landers' for long periods of time.

The Tyrells don't even want the #1 spot.
They prefer to play 'the Royal Sidekick' position.
Their 'ruling style' is 'All-Pippen'... to someone else's 'Jordan'.
As long as they can 'get their touches' on the rock every game... they don't care if the arena is empty & the fans leave before the 'final buzzer'.

The Arryns are just plain zany. (And not in a good way either. )
The whole family is goofy as fuck. Nuff said.
Nut-ass Lysa was still breastfeeding her teenage son... who already went thru puberty... and was old enough to vote & 'drink legally' at the local pub.
So that explains why... less than nobody... is cheering for 'Team Robyn'.

The Martells are 'too relaxed' to take shit seriously.
Too much of that sunshine & 'beach-bum' lifestyle made them lazy & weak.
Homeboy couldn't even control his dead brother's broke-ass, full-grown, orphanage-jumping, groupie 'bed wench'... who was truly 'ballin on his dime'... but wouldn't even TRY to 'put some respeck on his name' ... while living under HIS roof. Rent-free.

Which leaves Dany the Targaryen.
She's all about justice & revenge... And her 'birthright'.
And taking what's hers.................... Or even yours.
At least she cares about stopping slavery. Forever.
And she truly cares about 'her people'.
And the 'common people'.
But the bottom line is... She's more of a 'conquerer' than a capable 'ruler'.
Plus 'insanity' runs in her DNA ... So it's unsure if she will turn out to be just like her father (The Mad King) once she claims the Iron Throne.

Alright, there's something that always struck me as odd about the Arya, Jaquen, and the Waif.

If you remember the season 5 finale, Arya steals a face she wasn't supposed to. jaquen and the Waif appear. Jaquen says only death can pay for life. Arya looks like she's going to be forced to drink poison but Jaquen drinks it. Arya looks distraught; however, the Waif is actually Jaquen. Dead "Jaquen" is no one, as Arya pulls mask after mask off until the last mask is her face. Then Arya goes blind... Etc.

I still don't get WTF happened, and how that even ties into the Waif stabbing Arya this season. How does the face of Arya get put on the dead "Jaquen" body if she's not dead? Who stabbed who this season? OK, I'm done confusing myself.
