Game Of Thrones: The Sopranos with swords or Dynasty in chainmail?

Everything is spectacular man, I would love to see the budget. Seeing how historically cheap HBO has been they must cringe when the budget is proposed each year.

HBO will really be cringing when they get around to doing that Foundation series

That THIRST is REAL. :yes::yes:

I bet Bronn is probably 'MADLY IN LOVE' now with this chic Tyene.

He has NEVER been in serious hand-to-hand combat with a Beautiful & highly-skilled female warrior who ALMOST KILLS HIM WITH POISON.... SHARES A PRISON CELL with him.... then SEDUCES THE SHIT OUTTA HIM from across the bars.... and ultimately SAVES HIS LIFE.:yes::lol::lol::lol:

Think about it.... this broad is Bronn's ultimate 'ride-or-die' fantasy wife who could 'ride into battle' at his side.:lol:

He can experience countless emotions-n shit with her..... that he's NEVER shared with ANY woman..... in a single day.

Every single day....

- These fuckers could wake up & spar with each other in the morning...
- Get paid to murder a few people together by lunchtime...
- Then he can sing to her in the afternoon...
- She can almost kill him by dinnertime...
- Before they fuck like rabbits all NIGHT.
- Then wake up & do it all over again.

Jamie promised him 'a better castle and a better woman' for taking this trip to Dorne.

So if he and Jamie get out of this shit alive... I wouldn't be surprised if he decides to stay in Dorne... or just asks her to MARRY HIM RIGHT ON THE SPOT.

:lol::roflmao2::lol::roflmao::lol::roflmao3::lol:

finally saw last night's ep.:yes::dance:

back on track in a major way!!!

I wont waste time rehashing whats been said....just glad to see shit taking shape. The last 3 eps of this season should be EPIC!!!

No, he's the Master Of Coin. Cersei didn't appoint a Hand of the King.

.

Didn't she try to appoint Kevan Lannister but he told her to fuck off and that he's going back to Casterly Rock?

Watching that queen of thornes scene with the high septon reminded me of that scene in the dark knight, when Alfred says 'some men aren't looking for anything logical like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned or negotiated with.' You could see the frustration as all her usual bag of tricks wasn't working.

The High sparrow slayed the Queen of Thorns on her "We'll stop sending grain" threat.

He went on that "We are the 95%" route.

When have you actually been in the dirt and grown food? He knows common and poor folk are getting tired of the rich making their lives miserable. Especially after a long and costly war.

He has more power than the royal family...He's become an excellent villain this season.

He was saying some real shit, though. "When the many are no longer afraid of the few...."

Cotdamn. I gotta admit....

The Costume Design is seriously OFF THE CHAIN on this show!!!:yes:

The 'Wardrobes' combined with the 'Locations' and various 'Set Designs' are just SPECTACULAR, imo.

The Castles, Buildings, Kings Landing, Winterfell, Braavos, The Water Gardens, Iron Islands, Q'arth, Harenhall, The Marketplaces, The Slums, Countrysides, Desert Areas, Winter Scenes, The Wall...... Everything.

It all just works so well together.

These photos are fantastic.

Agreed. Top-notch photography there.

Costuming

The costumes of Ygritte, Jon Snow and Tormund Giantsbane reflect the harsh climate in which they are worn.

The rich dresses worn at the royal court in King's Landing advertise their wearers' wealth and status.

Functional weapons and armor, like Brienne of Tarth's, were manufactured for the series.
The show's costumes are inspired by many cultures, such as Japanese and Persian. Dothraki outfits resemble the Bedouin's (one was made out of fish skins to resemble dragon scales), and the Wildlings wear animal skins inside out like the Inuit. Wildling bone armor is made of molds taken of real bones and assembled with string and latex resembling catgut. While extras who portray Wildlings and the Night's Watch wear hats as would be normal in a cold climate, main actors usually do not so viewers can identify the characters. Björk's Alexander McQueen high-neckline dresses inspired Dormer's unusual funnel-neck outfit, and prostitute costumes are designed to be quickly removed. All clothing, whether for Wildlings or for women at the royal court, is aged for two weeks to improve realism on high-definition television.

About two dozen wigs are used for the actresses. Made of human hair and up to 2 feet (61 cm) in length, they cost up to $7,000 each and are washed and styled like real hair. Applying the wigs is a lengthy process; Clarke, for example, requires about two hours to style her brunette hair with a platinum-blonde wig and braids. Other actors such as Gleeson and Turner receive frequent haircoloring. For characters such as Daenerys (Clarke) and her Dothraki, hair, wigs, and costumes are processed so they appear as if they have not been washed for weeks.

  • Reek room service always on time, but doesn't offer sausage
  • The Bolton version of Freddie Jackson "You are my lady" gets performed by Ramsey atop of Winterfell
  • The north remembers how our blades are sharp, Ramsey stay flaying someone! He probably hella good at cleaning shrimp
  • Davos knows Stannis army is folding like the Dolphins in December at Lambeau field
  • Sam got beat up worse than Al Green during breakfast
  • Gilly makes Sam promise to “take care of little Sam” then she goes reverse wildling on "lil" Sam
  • Sam never consented and was crying out in pain. It was exactly like the Sansa scene, with Ghost replacing Theon.
  • Gilly seemed unphased her dad must have had that pipe....
  • OH SHIT ! Whites in chains and bondage with black slavers... my heart smiles
  • Tyrion finally wins a fight on Game of Thrones, why didn't slavers stop him? White privilege
  • Daario and Danaerys enjoy some spooning on the highest thread count sheets in Meereen
  • Myrcella refuses to leave Dorne she's a senior, she has a boyfriend, she's popular and all the Sand Snakes envy her at Water Gardens High School
  • Bronn continues his recording of “The Songs of Dorne” mixtape and gets a striptease for his effort.
  • 2 of the sand snakes are flannel wearing mechanics but one knows how to use sex as a weapon
  • How great is Dorne? Autoerotic incarceration? Please throw me in a cell with a Dornish man’s wife or daughter
  • That prison scene just woke up my sand snake....she was singing "Say my name"
  • That sandbox so magical the sight of it kills you? ...or the long farewell poison went into overdrive when me and Bronn's pulse rose.
  • Littlefinger returns to Baltimore to see his business/brothel has been looted
  • Lady Olenna stays reminding people she got the loot! Can't borrow sugar from her w/out her bringing it up daily
  • Jorah just go around and rub his greyscale on everyone. Instant win.
  • Danaerys never wear white to a bloodbath. Arterial spray doesn't bleach well
  • Danaerys looked cute like Snow White in that outfit...I see why Jorah is cupcaking
  • Mongo from Blazing Saddles did Tyrion a favor and released him
  • I brought you a gift Snow White.... Dopey of the 7 kingdoms
  • Margaery looking like a meth head or Cinderella before the ball in the black cells of the Red Keep
  • Cersei making Margaery eat venison when she's already choking on crow!
  • "What will we find when we strip away your finery?" a debit card and 75 cents
  • Cersei pulled a Desean Jackson and celebrated the touchdown before she crossed the line. Rookie mistake
  • Cersei's list of sins is longer than Lancel’s hair used to be
  • Cersei just learned that it’s dangerous to make deals with the Westeros Tea Party, courtesy of Little Finger.

I don't think they will kill Jon Snow... But I think the Wildlings will join Stannis' army... While Jon remains at the Wall.

They are the (unpredictable) 'wildcards' in the Battle against the Boltons imo.

They will either save Stannis' ass from total defeat... or double-cross him during the battle for killing their leader Mance Rayder.

Or Stannis might double-cross them and kill Tormund if he wins... And just scatter / or execute the remaining Wildlings before he marches South to Kings Landing.

Either way... Somebody is gonna get fucked-up in that Battle by "wanting it to be one way... when its the other".

Nah they have been setting dude up to die this whole season. He has no real support anymore from his people and the lil boy olly the way they zoomed in on him i wouldn't be surprised if he was the one to kill jon.

Now that cersei got caught slipping does that mean jamie should just chill in dorne and not risk his freedom by coming back to Church landing?

They better not kill Jon off man for a few reason. The biggest being everything has pointed to him being more than just a "Bastard!" There seems to be an exceptional storyline waiting to be unfold about his character. After Jon, IMO there aren't very much more "character" storylines that you can't wait to see how they develop. Going forward is fucking, Fat-Ass, Can't fuck, can't fight, can barely move Sam supposed to be our representative at the wall?:smh:

In another post I mentioned the show is getting to that saturation point. Meaning there is only so many key character you can kill off before the audience starts reaching that disconnect with the "new replacements" and eventual I really don't care anymore. Barely any Starks, No Jeffery, Tywin, No Hound etc etc

yep is that one of the reasons they canceled deadwood...?

Cersei played herself so bad...How do you help unleash something like that and not think that it could possible comeback at you? Especially when you have those kinds of things in your closet, you don't have the power you once had and your dealing with Religious Fanatics...lose, lose, lose!

She just learned what everyone else finds out after it's too late. There's no such thing as a controlled fire. Sooner or later, you'll end up in the burn unit next to those same people that you started the fire for. I have to admit, that was kind of satisfying to watch.

It was so badly and obviously botched that i took no pleasure from it all. I know she's not the brightest light in the draw but I found it hard to believe considering her up bringing that her politics could possibly be that bad. :smh:

I definitely see the Wildlings saving Stannis ass. His army is dying in that snow and I don't see them beating the Boltons with who is left. I predict Jon Snow getting word from Sanza that she is in trouble and marching the Wildlings to free her. Unlike Stannis' army, the Wildlings can handle the winter.

That will make Snow King and Warden. Wildlings get Castle Black. Together they Could kick Stannis Ass but he does right by them. They run down with The Veil to have revenge against Lannisters for killing the Stark bros. Stannis gets Kings Landing till Calese make her kids get they shit together and stop fuckin up locals at least. (Baby boy Stark can straighten them up.) Stannis goes mad and kills his wife then the priestess, his son kills him and goes back home satisfied. Sanza gets to peel the skin from her husband while Ghost mauls Little Finger to death slowly. King Slayer gets home just in time to loose his head for pushing lil Stark out the window. Lil Stark gon give him some dragon fire. House Tully is put to the sword By Snow. They all decide to let Circe stay in prison for the rest of her days with minimum nourishment until she just rots bout to death like Sofia in Color Purple. Let her surviving victims come and talk shit to her every day.

There it is nobody else matters cept the dwarf. He stays down south and is ambassador for the Masters and nem.

WHOOOOOOA! I just realized something where the fuck has Bran Stark been the ENTIRE season?

His story line from the books is essentially caught up, and considering that GRRM says he hasn't finished the final books, they probably took a season off to let him catch up and give them some sort of idea of where his storyline is going.

So do yall think Stannis is gonna sacrifice his daughter? It's one thing to want the throne, its another to sacrifice your daughter to do it. After his previous convo with her...I don't see it. Maybe he finally kicks Mel and his crazy wife to the curb.

Davos will definitely not stand for it.

‘Game Of Thrones’ Big Budgets Bring Huge Success; How HBO Series Makes Money With High Cost Per Episode

game-thrones-2.PNG
"Game of Thrones" has big budgets and big ratings. The budget per episode for the HBO series averages $6 million."

The world of HBO’s “Game of Thrones” is expansive, and expensive. There are multiple realms, dozens of characters, constant plot twists -- and dragons. But the real-world universe where “Game of Thrones” is made is equally far-reaching. The fantasy series is big business, and the scale of the production is unique for a television show.

The making of “Game of Thrones” costs plenty, with the per-episode budget averaging $6 million. In comparison, Netflix’s original shows cost an average of only $3.8 million to $4.5 million per episode. The show has been expensive from the beginning, with the pilot costing more than $10 million and the first-season budget reaching a staggering $60 million. That’s in the range of many big-studio, theatrically released movies. While “Game of Thrones” is not the most expensive show ever on television, or even HBO (HBO’s “Rome” averaged $10 million per episode before being canceled after one season), it is indisputably burning through a lot of money, enough to be considered the third most expensive show of all time.

Part of the budget is paid for by Northern Ireland Screen, a government body promoting film and television production in that territory. The agency has reportedly paid $15.3 million of the show’s budget over the past four seasons in exchange for an estimated $108 million that the show’s production brings to the area.

And the budget is not the only lavish thing about the “Game of Thrones” production. The series also films in range of diverse locations unheard of for television. Over its first four seasons the show has visited Ireland, Scotland, Malta, Croatia, Morocco and Iceland. That fact, combined with special effects teams, scores of costumes and elaborate sets (all of which factor into the enormous budget), and the production can be overwhelming.

Is “Game of Thrones” worth all the fuss and expense? The ratings seemed to suggest so. The Season 4 finale in June 2014 pulled in 7.1 million viewers and the show has hit 7.2 million on multiple occasions. But HBO is a subscription-based channel, not as beholden to ratings, and with no ad revenue specific to “Game of Thrones,” so how are all the expenses justified?

HBO’s shows -- with such illustrious predecessors as "The Sopranos" and "The Wire" -- are judged on their ability to create a buzz that generates additional subscribers, and “Game of Thrones” has been wildly successful in doing that. The show has the fifth-largest Twitter following of any television show, with fans tweeting wildly about each new character death and revelation. “Game of Thrones” is also the most pirated television show in the world, which cuts into profits but eventually generates new fans and buzz that turns into more subscriptions for HBO. Time Warner CEO Jeff Bewkes, head of HBO's parent corporation, has said “Game of Thrones’” piracy popularity is “better than an Emmy.”

Profits from “Game of Thrones” spill over into other industries as well. The publishing industry has benefited greatly from the show, with the “Song of Ice and Fire” book series’ sales getting a boost between the premiere and finale of each season. The show’s first season made the box set with the first four books the only fiction entry on Amazon’s bestseller list. “Game of Thrones” has also spawned profits in merchandising as fans snap up costumes and toys inspired by the series.

“Game of Thrones” is a gold mine for HBO, which owns the series outright, giving it maximum profits from the show’s success. The show is both a ratings juggernaut and a catalyst for sensational Internet buzz, both of which mean money in HBO’s pocket. No matter who sits on the Iron Throne in the story, “Game of Thrones” is a king in its own right on television.

I was thinking about something last nite...almost everybody seems to be behind the R + L = J theory...but the only 3 ppl who could confirm it on the show...rhaegar eddard and his sister are all dead...I think stannis' witch senses he has royal blood but I don't know if she can pinpoint whose exactly w/ her magic...meaning as far as the show goes it may never be revealed in the story...I was thinking jon might end up on the throne after all is said and done but I think now the highest he'll elevate to is lord of winterfell...but ya I'd hate to see his character killed off

It was so badly and obviously botched that i took no pleasure from it all. I know she's not the brightest light in the draw but I found it hard to believe considering her up bringing that her politics could possibly be that bad. :smh:

bcuz they're rushing thru the books and omitting minor things here and there as well as a lot of "boring" storytelling...so some of the characters' actions seem to be in haste/shortsighted

There's enough mysticism in the show for it to be revealed that way, or by someone like Littlefinger (who probably has so much information he can make any play he needs to)

It'll only need to be revealed if he actually takes the throne, and probably only in the lead up.

Everyone is pretty much behind Jon Snow as being a natural leader, so that string doesn't need to be pulled unless they decide he's the one who should sit on the iron throne.

If I was the show runner he's the one who would be king at the end of the series.

Theon's sister Yara still got unfinished business with the Boltons.

Shheeeeeiiiittt.... I could see her running up on Ramsey during the battle in the snow... just off 'General Principle'.

(While giving 'zero fucks' about saving Reek.)
