As a book reader, I do wish the GRRM had finished the 6th book sooner, but that's because I just want more of the story as soon as possible. I'm just as good with new content coming in the format of the show. Outside of a few small minor gripes, I think the show runners have done a brilliant job adopting the story (improving upon it in some ways).
Having said that there are a lot of excepts and sample chapters that have been released (or read live) from Winds of Winter. I've been avoiding most of it to prevent spoiling the upcoming TV season. From what I've heard none of that preview stuff addresses the big questions out there in overall story.
I'm ready for the season 6.
Yes I love it! I know for a fact if the series hadn't caught up to the books cats would be in here spoiling shit for us. Read the King Killer Chronicles to hold you over. It is one of the best if not the best fantasy type book I have ever read. Unfortunately the author is one some bullshit and is taking forever to release the third book and since I heard they are making a tv series for it I expect him to procrastinate even more.

There are a few things that have happened in the books that are rumored to be upcoming in the show. So I would still beware.
