Game Of Thrones: The Sopranos with swords or Dynasty in chainmail?

I finished all of the books. Did not really like Feast of Crows.

I am kinda worried since this is the book everyone complains about. Since they basically split the book in two.

I was a little let down w/Feast of Crows but if you immediately start reading A Dance With Dragons afterwards it isn't all that much of a disappointment. The only disappointment I could imagine is from the people who actually had to wait the 6 years time between the publishing of the two. I actually preferred the two separate books, and the way Martin split full character stories over the two books. All of that said i'm now pissed that i'll have to wait "God knows how long" for The Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring...hopefully the HBO series will motivate to finish them, but i'm looking forward to April 1st.

Do yall think Season 2,will get more fans to watch it since it was a surprising hit to everyone.......The reason why I say that is because fantasy usually dont get this much attention, especially on television...

I did not bother watching the show until the third episode aired and that was only because a friend told me to hop on it. Due to the Internet and word of mouth spreading game of thrones has taken on a life of its own and this point. Hell you even have an iconic show like the Simpsons doing one of their intros based off of the show. A lot more people have started reading the books because of the show as well. So I expect a lot more people to watch.

I have been watching some Game of Thrones episodes from season 1. I'm really interested to see how they manage to depict the Dragons as they become much bigger in later seasons.

i doubt that. if season 2 is anything remotely close to the book, this will be epic.

Basically, and Book 2 is better than Game of thrones (which was book 1).

What I'm worried about is when season 4 rolls around which is based off of the book Feast of Crows. Good luck trying to make that season interesting :smh:

You never know because these TV channels care more about making a profit than keeping a show that's successful

Was Feast for Crows that bad

The particular story and characters being presented in that period of the saga is just not interesting. The third book A Storm of Swords has a NUMBER of epic cliff hangers that are not really highlighted in the 4th installment and are instead picked up again in the 5th book A dance of dragons.

Furthermore the feast of crows does not even have any chapters dedicated to the characters Jon, Daenerys, Arya (only has two chapters). Only Jaime and Cersei's chapters are mildly interesting while I could care less about the other characters in the book.

I thought A Dance with Dragons was an extension of Feast for Crows....I remember watching an interview last year where he said his publishers want him to name ADWD ....Feast for Crows II since both books takes place at the same time :dunno:

I guess this interview took place this year....

It is an extension, but the second extension is better and more interesting than the first.

Am I fucked up for hoping that he doesn't die before he finishes the books?

That shit would suck!!!

No you're not the only one haha. I'm not sure how old he is but he looks old. It takes him a long ass time to release each book as well.

I think he said if something were to happen to him,the publishers can use his notes to finish the book but I think he's the only one who can finish the book....Getting another author to finish the book will be weird and the author will not capture GRRM vision correctly....

Dude at work just called me saying that I would love this show. I hope they have it available for download on the other side of the board.

It should be in the TV forum...Im not sure if the links still work
:dunno:

I just looked. I found some links online (Fileserve) that were still working, but that was episode by episode. I went to the TV board and there were rapidshare links still working so I am going to get the rest with that. Thanks.

Been reading the books since the 90's. Just finished book 5 and LOVED the show.

Just waiting for

I've started re-watching the first season, and was reminded how it started with it's focus on The Wall and what lies beyond The Wall and the fact that "Winter is coming"....that storyline doesn't interest me much at all, and thankfully, it took a backseat to the Lannister/Stark beef and the Dothraki/Dragon-girl storylines.

However, I think I read somewhere, or heard the creator say in some interview that the Wall/"Winter" storyline was gonna be a huge part of the second season, so I'm fully expecting a bit of a let down.

I also read/heard that the Imp was gonna see an expanded role, which would be a "plus" in my book....so we'll see....

The hell?

Jon and the story line involving the Nights Watch is one of the best in the series besides Arya, Bran, the Lannisters (Jaime, Tyrion, Cercei), and the brief snippets of what you read about Varys and little finger imo.
