HBO 2 has been running a GOT marathon each of the last 3 weeks and I have been watching to refresh my memory. Yesterday they ran Season 3 and I'm still pissed on how dumb and arrogant Rob Stark was. The Red Wedding episode still makes me shiver.

Anyway, on to Season 5!

He was dumb for choosing pussy over an alliance but the red wedding was not his fault.

Not to throw the thread off. But it would be nice to get that 2nd round of BGOL Of Thrones. The first round was the funniest shit ever.

Will HBO have the free trial weekend like they normally do for the season premiere of GoT?

I'm just here so I don't get fined

Absolutely his fault.

Broke a promise to a man everyone told him would carry a grudge because he fell in love in the middle of a war. :hmm:

The Freys have a reputation. They stayed neutral during the last war until the very end when it was apparent who the victors would be. Walder Frey was never to be trusted. Robb fucked up.

That's not where he fucked up.

He fucked up by beheading Richard Karstark for treason even after everyone advised him against it.

That cost him half his army which forced him to reach out to Walder Frey in desperation.

Really just like his father the Stark rigid code of honor and ethics is what killed him.

True it made him look fraudulent ...you don't honor your word to Freys but lean on honor towards Karstarks ? Roose Bolton saw that flaw and exploited it

Incorrect. Ned showed him in the first episode. You have vows, you stick to them. Karstark was disloyal and Robb had to send a message that he was the King. Karstark had to go. He should have seen how Robb handled the GreatJon and knew Robb wasn't to be fucked with.

Walder Frey was going to extract his pound of flesh from the Starks one way or another. Tywin made him a great deal at the right time.

Seriously, his biggest fuck up was not sending Catelyn to Pyke.

Theon Winterfell disaster started the whole downward spiral.

Imagine if Theon would have talked to Renly instead of Catelyn.

Theon would have convinced Renly to attack the Lannisters instead of trying to war with Stannis.

That would have pushed Tywin away from saving Kings Landing. Stannis would have sack Kings Landing, effectively putting Tywin in a compromising position.

The Iron Born would be in a compromising position as well because they would be compelled to listen to Catelyn instead of a discarded Greyjoy *theon*.

With all this being said, Westeros would still be at war because Stannis was hell bent on being king. Tyrion said it in ADWD, "Nobody likes Stannis".

I believe the quote in the trailer rings true. Doesn't matter who is on top, everyone else just gets crushed by the process like a wheel. Although Stannis follows the funky religion, he was the only one to heed the call when the night watch needed help saving the 7 kingdoms from shyt behind the wall. I say he has more right to it than any of the others.

Jamie Lannister killed Lord Karstarks son, he wasn't letting that ride. King Robb of the North knew that... Their way is the old eye for an eye way. Especially after he broke his vow to the Freys he couldn't afford to lose half his army by killing his cousin.

Theon betrayed him, he couldn't do much about that. He just should have listened to his mother about Greyjoy and Freys. She had first had experience with them

It's going to be interesting, since the show have caught up to the books for the most part...

I hope they kill Daenerys this season,but I know it won't happen...:smh::smh::smh:
